I had a look through the search bar, freeskier.com, the orage site, but I couldn't find anything...
Does anyone know why (I assume financial reasons) and/or if there will be a 2008 event?

not enough snow to push into a course that low on the mountain could have been a problem... because in the spot they make it they had a third of the snow they have had there at that time for the last 5 years or however long it has been going on.
But i haven't heard an official reason

I don't believe the no snow bullshit. I've seen some amazing things done with very minimal snow. I live in Indiana for Christ's sake. I'm willing to be it was something financially. And it costs like $5000 a team I think just to enter, and I'm willing to bet they don't have to pay Mammoth as they get a lot of publicity outta it. There were like 10 teams in it.... the prizes they bought don't add up to $50,000.

^ Ohh, and that's assuming they bought the prizes. I image they got discounts and shit.

Mammoth would most deffinetly charge them, and a lot. Do you know how much money it takes to run a snowcat for one hour? And how may hours they would have put into the course?

due to Mammoth's low now, it would have taken a lot more cat-hours to get the course ready than it did in previous years. It still would have been possible, because it's not like they had NO snow, it just would have been waaaay more expensive.

Yeah. I do know actually.... but I figured since so much media and shit comes from it they wouldn't charge them. I guess I was wrong though.
