anchorage. alyeska is the best resort in the state in my mind. and then near it is hatcher pass and turnagain pass if you like back country. if you have any questions just ask me since i live hear
haha nobody who lives in Alaska on this site can afford heli...its like $8,000 per weekend.
But yeah go to Alyeska if you want resort skiing, even though it sucks balls. Why are you coming up here anywa? Alaskan resorts aren't even half as good as the resorts in the lower 48's. Alyeska has nazis for ski patrol, and all the good majestic lines you see in their advertisements are closed off 99.9% of the time, so its just groomers and moderate off-trail skiing. Powder days are fun but theres no big hits. Hit up some backcountry, thats where the real shit is at.
alyeska doesnt have any lines. however juneau does. but its pretty hit and miss here. last year we got more snow than ever. but normally it just rains. check the weather, if its good come to juneau.
im really disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm for alyeska here. there is tons of sick shit, you perhaps, do not know about it.... or it may not be open all the time.
yeah if the big mountain lines were open I would love it 110%. But I dislike Alyeska from a filming perspective, nothing is really big. Its a fun little place to ski, no doubt, I just wouldn't go shooting there very often.
That mountain has soo much potential too, hopefully the management will change since theres a new owner. Plus they're going to open the mountain next door, which is going to be SICK. Too bad by the time that happens I'll be out of AK, so bah!
