well it kind of depends on who much you ski them, some kill it on rails, some will take a pretty bad beating, but no ski is can with hold alot of rails
fujis hold up to rails pretty well. i skied em 50 times this year and did a bunch of rails (seeing as im in the midwest). i still have a couple rail seshs a week in my yard and the edges are lookin really good
all skis have diff edge life. the wider skis should have the same strength as other ones but there would probly be more pressure on the edges the wider you go if you grind on your back edges. i rode my invaders about 75 times this year and i never left the park. it was solid rail and jump sesh's everytime i went up and theres about 6 or 7 edge cracks in both of my skis. just depends on how hard you ride them and how much.
all skis are going to take a beating on rails particularly if you live in the park like many of the people on here. some edges seem to hold up better, at least for me, but you will probably get edgecracks if you hit rails all the time so just expect it.
Line has very thick edges and bases, I've found them to hold up to rails, and other things like rocks and shit very well, I was on my Mike Nicks once and was sort of billygoating this area, and slid sideways over a rock, right under my boot where all the pressure was, and I was so sure I'd gotten a massive core shot that as soon as I could I popped out and checked it...nothing...literally not even a gouge deep enough to put your fingernail in.
Long live Line!
you heard wrong, for edge strength, line is the best in the bussiness. the lizzies and bacons break a little easier becase they're so soft that the extra flex puts more pressure on the edges and they wear out and crack if you're sliding lots of rails on them (which i would have no idea why since they're 110+ pow machines).
yeah the 07 invaders are pritty solid. I rode about 15 times this year on mine and they held up perfectly. Line got it right this year after the delam problem on the 06
it all depends how you slide rails. some people are jibbing crappy handrails all day while others are just sliding butter-smooth flatrails. it's all physics anyway
i have the mike nicks too and they were great for like 2 years then they like blew up. i have like 10 core shots now all of then bigger then a penny and i have like 25 broken edges and my edge is gone for three inches under my binding and my topsheet..... well lets just say that there is almost more gone than there
what??? line skis kill on rails, the hold up really really well they have a fatter base and edge then most other park skis and it helps alot also the edges are anchored alot better into the core and this make them hold up alot better as well
My Fujatives edges cracked like crazy, they went from brand new to 10 cracks in one day. However, they didn't wear down as much as my Crichtons did, but the dynastars didn't crack as quickly. And my Chronics were really good edge and base wise, but they delammed in 1/4 of a season.
I am getting the 07 - 08 inavaders for 300 bucks i so friggin jacked but i wanted to make sure i am not making a mistake because everyone i have talked to said that they suck because there good for like a day then they pretty much blow up.
