I am thinking of buying the K2 seth vicious which has a 100mm waist and was wondering if i should buy the 100mm or 120mm wide brake as they are the same cost what would be the pros and cons of both widths oh buy the way both of the brakes are going with the px12 jib
As long as the brake goes around the ski your fine. I think with a ski that wide 1-2cm on the side won't cause too much problems. I'd go with the 100mm, and if anything you'll need to bend it like a couple mm
100mm, with a 120 you'll have 10mm of overhang on each side (which doesn't sound like much, but it is) they'll want to drag when carving, and be far more likely to hook up on things when riding switch.
The ski is 98mm at the narrowest point or the mounting line. It will be wider where the actual break is, as in over 100mm. So you will need to bend the 100mm break or go for the 120mm break which will have less than 10 mm on each side.
they are 98 at the suggezsted mounting point. my arvs w/ widebrakes will be mounted center where its about 98-100, and they clear the sides with ease. and these were with px12 100mm widebrakes.
second that. Usualy you can use a brake 10mm too small without bending them. Where as 10mm+ on the big side is more of a problem. Plus brakes that are too big will break ALOT easier on switch falls
