Chads Gap invitational, top 20 jibbers on earth, $100,000 cash money prize, sponsored by Honda, patron, Pom, J lindeberg,Crunk energy drink and Whole Foods
uhhh, that would be a little to fucking dangerous for every pro to come out and sesh. I mean, with each rider continously riding it, the conditions of the inrun/landing/"case zone" would get hectic.
or it can just be like "the battle at chads reinactment"
it would be like any famous historical reinactment which would retell the tale of tanner hall.
based on the footagte gathered, pros have to show their side of what happened that day.
at the end everyone has a laugh and a bbq is had by all. winner is based on tone, movement, and overall believablility
dude if they are that worried about getting hurt then what a bunch of pussies, the sport they embody and live their lives through is all about walking the proverbial tight rope between danger and progression. With a large high 6 figure purse, 20 top riders should have the balls to throw down over chads to th e awe of the international populous
That would be amazing but one of the major factors of chads is the powder landing...without that it'd be a lot harder to land and after a ton of pros going it'd be hard to maintain a soft landing.
Im sure that although there is a high monetary value, they wouldnt risk thier passion for a 6 figure purse. Now if the inrun was somehow groomed or heavily salted, I can see it becoming much more possible. Mind you, some pros are crazy mofos, so I can't really speak for them. SOme may argue that the JOI jump was flippin floppin insane, but it was calculated and pretty damn safe. Chads on the other hand has very many variables, that could easily end a season or even career with the slightest misjudgment.
Well in that case, all groomed and shit, why wouldnt you just create a similar man made gap at a resort where the spectator access is much greater. The reason chads is so famous is becasue its a relativly perfect gap for skiing in the backcounrty. Grooming it would kind of dismiss the point.
think about it 15 runs on chads gap in one day is rediculous unless they made a chairlift for it. Backcountry jumps are a lot different than you easterners/park rats think.
they usually hit it in an exclusive session consisting of 2 or 3 pros, where the conditions are pretty damn prime. Not during some publicized event where the inrun/landing are getting beaten up like madd by the 20 guys sessioning. I also said that I can't spoeak for every skier, but I sure as hell wouldnt want to hit one of the most infamous, dangerous gaps in skiing in any less than mint conditions.
