Dalbello Rampage

My favorite boot out of all the ones I've ever owned, very responsive and nice flex, I noticed it puts the power to the ski, toe box is cold as all hell though, beware of that.

Oh, and are there any problems with it that stick out?

If you have pronation, you may need to get it punched on get a footbed that'll keep your inner ankle off the shell, it hurt me when I wore it cause of that, but other than that and the toebox being relly cold, a very nice boot.

out of interest, why would the toe box get cold?

because that is the part of your foot that primarily gets cold. any pressure on your leg will reduce the blood flow to your toes. when your body gets cold it reduces the blood flow to the extremities first in order to keep the core warm. and last but not least, it's the most exposed part of your foot in a boot.

you can also try putting duct tape across the hinge of the tongue (where the toe dam is traditionally) might work

A good fitting boot generally will cure cold feet, but why is it reported as a problem in a rampage but not many other boots (its not the first time ive heard of people with cold feet when in krypton rampages)

because the toe box in the rampages is small..and there is not much room to move ur toes around to keep em warm

everyone has pretty much hit it right on the spot. its the most comfortable boot i've ever been in. your toes might get cold if you have a wider foot. the last on the boot is 98mm which although not extremely small is still on the lower end of the size spectrum. the flex is very easy to change and it has a range of 80 to 150 i believe. i'm too lazy to go check in my room. but you also have a lot of customization with the boot that makes it extremly worth the $400 price tag. you can change your forward lean on the fly enabling you to get better control on steeper terrain and flatter areas. also if you have any problems being either bow legged or knock kneed the "canting" system the boot uses is pretty unique from what i've seen. its not just twisting an allen wrench but actually putting in little rings to push the cuff of the boot one way or another. and to your suggestion of sizing down thats personally what i always do. but if you get fitted by a boot fitter who knows what he or she is doing then the size they say for you should be acceptable. just make sure that if you do decide to go a half size down and you are at an even size: say you were told to buy a 28 size boot but you want that half size lower to get refitted to make sure that packing out won't be a problem. going from a 28.5 to a 28 wouldn't be so major because the shell is the exact same. all in all it is a great boot. if you are looking for more high end though you might want to wait till season becuae they are making a boot a step above the rampage called the il moro. but thats only if you are really pushing it hard. the rampage was perfect for everything i did this season

Look into the Krypton Cross's, I have them, and they're great, and pretty similar to rampages.

So true. I had to sell mine because my inner ankle started to hurt.  And the toebox can be cold.  Its a super good boot though if it fits right.

you have to make a boot fit right. get a punch not a new boot next time

I love mine, and the ability to change the flex with ease. There's 5 different stiffness you can use, and change them without a problem. Just need to slide a little ( shaped piece, 2 different sized pieces, 2 position slots, and 5th stiffness with nothing in. I usually do nothing or the 1st stiffness on cold days, and on not so cold days 2nd to last stiffness.

I did get them punched/stretched.  Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem. So they got sold.
