I am seriously so pissed off right now. The refs (and NHL) have been giving him the reach-around of the fucking century. First they went and called that absolutely rediculous penalty, which on the power play, Alfredsson blatantly kicked the puck in the net. The on ice ref made the initial correct call, but of course they went upstairs to the war room. But by some form of slut magic, Toronto... thought that was a goal. STRIKE 1. But in tonight's game, with 4 seconds left in the period, Alfredsson decides that he's too much of a piece of shit to simply dump the puck into the Duck's zone. He makes the unsportsman-like decision to check his initial dump in attempt, and take a full on slap shot at Scott Niedermayer from 10 feet away. STRIKE 2. Of course the ducks stand up for their leader and a scuffle ensues. In the scuffle on the boards, Alfredsson completely loses his dignity again and punches a Ducks player in the face with his glove on. STRIKE 3.
I am not even a ducks fan, and seriously this is complete bullshit. NHL please sucking off Daniel Alfredsson.

and you dont think players dont shoot the puck at other players often? jesus, it's as if this game was groundbreaking or something! pucks get shot at players pretty often, homeboy. what alfredsson did wasn't illegal, nor was it all that unusual. yes, the ducks have every right to get angry over it, and yes, it was very silly of alfie to do, enraging the opponent like that. i'd say that's a valid strike against alfie... but again, captain on captain, end of period... it was a message being sent.
and the 'kick'? nope. sorry. he kept his skate on the ice and changed the angle of his blade, intentionally deflecting the puck in. 100% perfectly legal. his follow through was a result of being ass rammed by ryan getzlaf... and the follow through is irrelevant anyways, because the only way it's deemed a kick is if he picks his skate up... and kicks the puck! woah! he like, totally didn't do that!

The emphasis of 'with his glove on' leads me to believe that the 'strike' was given because of incredibly faggish "fighting with your gloves on" thing. Second, when you have an open zone, you dump the puck, you don't take a shot at the D-man (no matter how many people do it, it still isn't cool), and third, I don't remember what the third strike was.

Again, a normal practice in hockey is the punch with the glove on. Cheap, sure, but is suuper common, so stop whining, it's called hockey and it's physical. Note- making posts complaining about routine hockey plays is a bitch move.
Now I agreed that Alfie shooting at Niedermayer was cheap. If the thread creator wanted to make a thread based solely on that play, I'd have agreed and we'd have moved on. But stop bitching about routine happenings and using them as 'evidence' for some sort of NHL 'conspiracy' in favour of a losing team.

no, no, no; I have no problem with throwing punches, but I (didn't watch the game) assumed that when this thread was made, it was because during a fight (a normal fight), alfie didn't drop the gloves and if that's the case, than he's a big ol' pussy.
I've played hockey my entire life, I know what the unwritten rules are, and, in a fight, you drop your mitts.
