Amp/subs/car

well the other day while cleaning out my car from all the shit my friends leave in it i stumbled upon an amp under my back seat, i have no idea how many watts it is or anything and the dealer ship didnt say anything about it. As of right now i dont have any subs or anything in my car just stock shit but i was thinkin bout gettin 2 12's or maybe just 2 10's
how many watts would i need to acheive this and for how much?
help would be much appreciated

i have a 250 watt amp with 2 8"s in a box and 2 6" or 8"s in my back window behind my seats and peoples ears bleed in the back seat. but you can get retarted with like mutiple amps and like a few boxes. depends on the car and your wallet

i have a jeep grand cherokee and they would probaly just go in my trunk. I just want something that is legit cus my friend got 2 kenwood 10's in his 3 seater truck and when he first put them in you couldnt even see out hte rear view window cus it shook so much but now they died down a lil bit

you want the wattage of the amp to be as close as possible to the wattage of the sub or combined total wattage of all subs if your getting more than one. for example if you get 2 400watt subs, you want an amp close to 800watts. you want to compare RMS(constant power) watt ratings and not peak power watt ratings but wait until you figure out how powerful the amp is before you worry about that. the amp should say somewhere on it how many watts it has but if you just found it in the car i would assume its not that powerful or possibly doesnt work anymore. you can goto your local best buy/circuit city or car audio store and they can test it for a few bucks and let you know if anything is wrong with it.
