I think for any sort of conventional skiing or carving, not gonna happen. rails and minor jibbing possible, I see those being problematic for landings since they will be so soft. Have you tried these yet? I think it will be tough to get on a chair lift with those. I might be wrong, but thats my first impression. Please let us know how it works out for you.
those are gonna be wayyy to soft. there will be too much flex in the boot/binding and itll make turning really hard. good luck though, and dont fall. or your fucked.
thats illl, cause you get to wear wicked comfortable snowboard boots now. my friends always complain how kis boots hurt and are uncomfortable, and i was thinking it would be sik to throw some snownboard bindings on a pair of skis and get to it. Nice job thats sick
i dont thinks so, mostly because all of you way underestimate the strength of snowboard bindings cosidering that you dont snowboard, but it might work, who knows? but im guessing jumps would def be harder
Well, I think you're right about people underestimating the support of snowboard boots and bindings. I snowboard a little, and quite stiff gear is available.
But also, all the people saying you will get hurt are right. This is what you need to be careful of: if you fall backwards and twist to one side, the front tip of your outside ski will prevent your outside foot from twisting with you. So, that leg will end up folding underneath you with your toes pointed outward at a big angle (kinda hard to describe). This will tear your anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and your medial meniscus in your knee. This is a very common football injury (cleats stuck in the ground stop the foot from turning also) and used to be a serious skiing injury before Marker invented the releasing binding (although it is still pretty common). So, be careful, and be aware this injury has an up to 6 month recovery time and can require surgery.
ok so when the bindings don't release since they are meant for a snowboard you will screw up your legs maybe even break them if the crash is bad enough, sounds cool to me.
i snowboard and its not as easy twist twist your/ankles but it def can happen pretty easily, it really depends on what your doing, you gotta be doing something on a jump and fuck up pretty bad to hurt yourself though. skiiers definantly got it harder
