so i tried this on the searchbar and people usually just talk about equipment. for people who have tried preffesional water ramps, what is the huckability? can you just toss your meat or do you have to sort of try to land feet first? also, is going in switch hard? im not that good at it on snow.
if your not very good at skiing switch id say it wouuld be hard for you ive never done it but i think you just have to commit cause if you turn youl die
huckability is pretty much limitless because you can land on your head and it doesnt hurt that much. which is sick so you can try anything you want
aaand switch isn't too bad
if i could give you 1 piece of advice it would be to not go for just one day cuz it takes a whilw to get used to so u will eat shit most likely but the more you go the easier it gets and thats when you really start learning things, and yes fallign can hert pretty damn bad sometimes
for those of you who said landing wrong doesn't hurt you're fucking retarted and obviously don't go big.. i just got back from the ramps in pc about an hour ago and i can tell you that it does hurt to land on you're side/face/back/belly... the "huckability" is pretty good but dont just think that because it's water ramps you're going to be invincible, i've seen kids come out coughing up blood before cuz they landed wrong going off the triple kicker...
and going switch can be done, but it's pretty sketch.. i wouldn't recomend it.
yea, you can't really get hurt on them unless oyur hitting the triple or double. for most people (me incuded) just hit the single with the top up for park stuff. i was trying 7 double noses and landing flat on my back, hurts for minute or two, but then your good. it feels like getting the wind knocked out ot you, but it doesn't actually happen. just like thud. straight on your head doesn't hurt at all, but anywhere inbetween all edepends on how much you enjoy belly flops.
^did i really have to know that? i want to go water ramping expecting to not seriously injure myself, not scarred shitless. i just wanna know the risks
alright, this may sound real dumb to people, but, one do skis float, i wouldnt think so, and two, when you eat shit and double eject, do u have to swin to the bottom to get your skis...i feel like a newb asking this
its more of an injury. i want to know: dont go backwards, thats bad, and dont land on your back or front, i didnt want to hear things that have happened to people so i become bumbed out and dont want to go. go vent your anger somewhere else.
yeah figured that, but i wouldnt use my normal park skis on a water ramp, i hear its real easy to break skis, so i would use my urban skis, and im pretty sure p12s arent going to hold me in jumping, let alone into water
yeah they are great bindings, but im 185-190 and my urban skis have p12s on them because they work for most rails, i would double eject evertime my fat ass hit the water
so colin heres the deal:
dont worry too much cuz just cuz some people fall doesnt mean you will and break something, obviously they didnt land right or fell over on the ramps or there is that ONE weird case where they land right on the water and something goes bad. If u wanna go switch ride the jump a little bit swich first then go for it, hit it swtch with the top down if your in lake placid and you wont go as big but just get a eel for it.
Overall u wanna preogress so dont let your fears get in the way, i had the same issue.
hope that helps
