Ebay and Manufacturer's Warrenties

I searched ebay and warrenty and couldn't seem to come up with anything on this subject. But if there are old threads on this topic, let me know.
But my question was if anyone knows how warrenties with skis/bindings etc. work, with stuff bought on ebay? Are the warrenties void because they were not sold retail? And like as far as a 1 or 2 year warrenty is concerned, how can they be sure when the date of purchase was. Like if you dont get an official store receipt.
Do packing slips and invoices, or ebay printouts work or paypal histories work?

Void void void. You got a deal by getting it on ebay, but now it's fucked. VOID. Sucks to be you. Try applying the money you saved to buying some other Ebay piece of shit.
If you bought from an online shop that is legitimately a dealer, then cool. At worst, a credit card statement should be enough. Hopefully.
That being said, expect to take a ton of shit if you go into your local shop and cry about the skis you bought online for $50 cheaper than on their wall, and wanting them to help you with warranty. You bought online, you're most likely going to deal with it on your own.
Don't come bitching when getboards.com doesn't help you out with warranties. Local shops exist for a reason, and you should have bought your gear there in the first place.

Chill bro. Where I come from... I don't save $50 from buying ebay. I save roughly 200. Complete and utter bullshit when a shop is selling Salomon Foil and Z10 package for $719. Not that I even want that package.
There are 2 shops around here and both suck.
Their prices are outrageous.
They only carry, salomon, K2, Line, Head, and Volkl. So I can't even see first hand stuff from other companies.
Fuck that man. I'm also 5'11" 170 lbs and they're trying to sell me skis that are 169 CM. They wont even bend my breaks fucking 4MM to fit the ski after paying them $60 to mount them.
The two shops here have a psudo monopoly and they are abusing it.

Some manufacturers don't even care. I had a pair of Marker bindings for two and a half seasons before they busted. I got them off of the internet, but I sent them back through my local shop without the original receipt. Marker sent me a brand new pair a week later.

ok so i buy from an online retailer because i cant go to the shop in tahoe, but i save 250 dollars because its the last pair of skis and onsale...your telling me you would rather pay full price, and have to wait for next years shit, just so you support your local shop and get your cute little reciept?

exactly, why would i have to go through a shop for a company to honor their warrenty? Theres a reason why it's called a manufacturer's warrenty. It is to ensure the customer that the product they are buying is guarenteed to be good (at least for the time span or the warrenty). The shop doesn't make the skis. I should be able to go straight through to the factory and have them honor it.

Cool shops will try to help you out because they want your business on service, boots (hopefully you don't get bootfitting advice then buy online, that's something I don't think you should do), apparel etc. Shops that are dicks to people who buy online are just going to go out of business that much faster.
Face it retail, informed buyers are gonna get their skis on eBay for $400 instead of paying you $600+.
