most true critics don't reall,y but i do...its the stuff i liek the most, but i imagine i'll eventually grow out of it. Its a whole culture with its own art form in every aspect of it, from fashion to advertisements to designs of the stufff to actually doing the sport and the syle with whihc you do whatever. its sick.

If dance is art, then so is skiing. Line choice, tricks thrown, and style all are parts of skiing that make it art.

its deffanatly an art form, maybe not for the person who skis 10 times a year but if you are a true skiier then all you do is about skiing in winter. Art is all entertainment, i know i can watch a ski movie 100 times and look at pictures all summer and want more just like wanting to see good drawings or listening to good music

big mountain is art because you as a person are creating something (turns) that another can admire

Deffinatly, because it all evolves around a lifestyle, certain styles, and individualism.
where as sports are about teamwork and stuff.
you don't see someone hit a really steezy looking homerun in a game of baseball... they all pretty much look exactly the same. where as in skiing, skateboarding, and biking every individual has his own unique style and can pull off any specific trick with a certain amount of their own style or in different unique ways.
certain people have very different unique, yet amazing looking kickflip (or any trick for that matter) in skateboarding.. catch a drift in what im trying to say?
like you dont just see a guy running around all by himself in the feild throwing his football for the heck of it (or at least very very rarely) where as you could see some dude cruisin down the street skating and doing tricks for the personal satisfaction and general sense of accomplishment while landing and learning new things.
I don't know, it's just different than sports.
That's my conclusion.

pretty much gonna say what Mat. did above me
these action sports we partake in are individualized, allowing freedom of expression. unique expression = art in my opinion
All times are Eastern (-5)
