Snowboarding?

I started this thread for a few reasons:
i have noticed a lot of people on this site really hate snowboarders. so i am asking why they do.
i also want to know if you have ever tried it, and how many times.
and lastly, should we ever make this a ski/snowboarding site.

please dont just say they suck and whatever, you really must have reasons. and if you do have a reason, look at it and see if the same thing is caused by some skiers. know what i mean?

I dislike most snowboarders cause theyre assholes. Not all snowboarders are assholes though. I sorta tried it once. My friend rented a snowboard one day and i just got in with my ski boots on. It didnt work very well. It seemed pretty fun but I like skiing better.

dude i dont hate snowboarders, i hat posers and a lot of snowboarders are posers. this site shouldnt be both for that reason and i tried it once for like 2 hours and hated it

dan, so this site should be for snowboarders also, because there are a lot of snowboard posers? well, arent there a lot of skiing posers as well?

i dont think there are as many cuz its not the 'cool' thing to do, and thyre easier to distinguish between real skiers and poser skiers than snowboarders

i hate snowboarders that hate skiers... those are the only ones i really hate, posers are extremely annoying and frustrating but every sport has them.

and why would we make this a site for skiers and snowboarders? wouldn't that defeat the purpose.

yes chris, that is how i feel. the ones who hate us are the ones i dont like. they really piss me off.
as for defeating the purpose of this site, i guess it kind of would. so ok, not make this a skiing/snowboarding site, but maybe except them more.

I hate the snowboarders who do it because its cool. Like 15 year old girls who are snowboarding only because they can go back to school after the weekend and brag about how they went snowboarding on the weekend, and then hopefully people will think they are cool. But I have tons of friends who snowboard, and I have tons of respect for their sport, and they have tons of respect for mine. When I learned how to do 3s and backflips and rails, like 4 years ago, I had never heard of freeze, or twintips, or freeskiing at all. I just saw snowboarders doing it and thought it looked cool, so I started trying it on my skis. Thats why I have so much respect for their sport I guess. I got to go snowbaording 5 or 6 times this season. It is definitly a lot of fun, the carving motion is dope. But I'm already a good skier so I don't want to learn a whole new sport, when skiing is more fun anyways.

See it goes both ways. I snowboard, but I think skiing is super pimp. Just cause ya got two boards instead of one doesn't make ya an asshole, and vice-versa. Skiiers can do some crazy shit... and so can snowboarders. Boarders hate skiier for the same reason skiiers hate boarders. We both have a couple obnoxious people in our sports who leave a bad, lasting impression on the opposite kind. Some skiiers try to cut boarders off, carve across the entire hill, fall getting of the lift, bust of jumps, etc... but not all of ya do it, and there are snowboarders that do it too. So ya can't be hating the opposite kind, just its assholes.

tried it, i got about as good as most of the people at aspen in 3 days so i quit, it was really fucking easy

ok, when did riding a different piece of wood down a snowy hill turn us into 2 different races, snowboarders are people, skiers are people, some people are ignorant assholes, some people are chill, so saying that most snowboarders or even some snowboarders are assholes is just stupid, and u also say it like skiers arn't, when ur doing the exact same thing by saying it, so what im saying is, hit a blunt and just fuckin chill...

I've been skiing since I was two and snowboarding for three seasons now. I deffinatly like to ski more, skiing just fucking rules.
but it's really not cool to say one sport is better than another because its all a matter of personal opinion

i totally agree. snowboarding and snowboarders deserve respect when done right, along with skiing, and even racing and skiboarding.

statement revision: i don't hate snowboarders that hate skiers. i dislike the people, that may happen to be snowboarders or whatever, that rag on skiers just for the simple fact that it is skiing even if you tear it up.

i only had 3 or 4 skiing friends last year and they weren't hardcore about it at all..they were like school ski club and that's it.... so i skied with many a snowboarder and they are all my really really good friends, so i can't say i hate snowboarders when every person pretty much at the skatepark is a snowboarder and almost all oif my friends are snowboarders.

I snowboard on occasion and I ride with a lot of snowboarders, a lot of them are arogant but all of my friends have mutual respect for the skiers.

I have boarded on and off for 9 years (skied for 12) i definitely prefer to ski but boarding is fun as well for a change, and like someone else said we are all people and some people are just assholes. and those assholes are 99% of the time the 'posers'. and like someone else said above i started emulating the snowboarders tricks at my hill before i had even heard of newschool. so thats a big thanks to boarding. anyway what does it matter go to the hill and have a good time dont let anybody's hatin rain on your parade, your out skiin' enjoy it

I love snowboarders. The guys that I see in the park day in and day out who start to recognize me, one of the only girls and skiers in the park, who give mad props to absolutely everyone rock my world! They rock to party with, and they are just there to see our sports change and improve in ways we couldn't imagine. The boarders who are assholes are the souless ones who obviously try to do it cause its cool. The same can be said for some new skiers who have the most heinous attitudes you have ever seen. Snowboarders are fantabulous.

I snowboard and ski. I was carving down steeps after a week of snowboarding. The first stages of snowboarding are easy to pass. It is getting really good at technical stuff is hard. So dont say snowboarding is easier.

And yes, some snowboarders are dicks, btu so are some skiers. This year i was at my mtn and asked a guy for some advice with rails. he seemed to be doing the kink really easy so I figured he coudl help. He just sorta rolled his eyes. so, it is just individuals that make things less fun :D

'Yeah, I'll get that cleaned up lickity-split. Speaking of lickity-split what do you say you and I meet up later, see what's going on? Just kidding. But seriously, I'm new in town, kinda lonely, looking for my parents..

not to generalize on purpose, but it seems the better snowboarders have more respect for skiers. the 'posers' do nothing but badmouth skiers, and with no reasons why. i dont mind snowboarders at all, but i dont want newschoolers.com to turn into a ski and snowboard site. its one of the few quality sites that skiers have to themselves.

i used to ski but then i changed to snowboarding cuz i wanted change...not cuz its the cool thing to do...how i see it is that both sports do the same thing...the only difference is how they do it...its really gay when snowboarders hate skiers and skiers and snowboards...there is no point...if anything its racist
