Is it illegal???

Today me and my friend were goin to his house and we watched 2 cops set up a speed trap, in a place where everyone speeds. It was like 1/4 mile down from his house. WE were bored and it was nice day so we decided to set up lawn chairs at the end of his driveway and hold up signs saying "Po-Po Ahead slow down" People were honkin and waving and giving us thumbs up, i felt pretty good about myself.

But the question is... is it illegal?

its not illegal but they'll probably make up some bullshit to get you in trouble.

as for the tips idea, if somebody saved my ass and then had a tip jar i would drop some money in there

No its really not illegal...its protected under the first amendment... i just went over this stuff in government class and learned about a bunch of court cases that the supreme court did and there is no way possible this is illegal...flashing your lights might be illegal because its improper use of your signals...definitly not illegal.

y would it b illegal?? you r kinda helping the cops cause ur getting ppl to slow down... if not the go past the radar and r like fuck o well ill keep speeding there wont b another then they have crashes

Yes it is, well at least in maine. i checked with my friends coach who is a po po. You are all good unless the laws are different than maine.
