seeing as cars are the #1 source of greenhouse gas emissions and hybrid cars are few and far between, why doesnt someone make after-market kits to convert your car into a hybrid car?
i imagine this would be quite expensive but im surprised nobody has thought of this yet?

americans are fat and lazy. do you think we are going to spend the time puttin that together, or taking our car to the shop that isnt certified to put one in?

americans are also greedy cash cows, and if someone were to find a way to make this idea profitable they'd jump right on it

It's been thought of, it's just not practical. Installation and service just ruin the cost and you're better to just buy a new car.
I'm sure in the future there will be parts that you can add on to cars that increase fuel efficiency by a hefty amount.

americans also create companies where their main source of income is picking up, bagging, and shipping dog shit to loved ones.

I'm not an expert but i'm pretty sure it takes a lot more than just adding a battery pack to your cars electric system to increase your mileage by a significant amount. The main benefits of a hybrid are regenerative braking, which I think would be very difficult to add, and having the car run on electric when little torque is needed or when stopped, which I don't know enough to even speculate about. Besides this, there are a lot of little changes in the design of a car that make it fuel efficient, not just the fact that its a hybrid.

you wont save the world.
It would be way too expensive and society should allocate its resources into something more lucrative.

well i had no idea it would have been that complicated/expensive to implement. so much for that idea lol
why doesnt the government put more money into researching methods of reducing fuel consumption/emissions in cars that are already on the road? seems like taht would be the first place to start right?

oil lobbyists + tax dollars
the main reason why it is so hard to make cigarettes illegal is because of the huge amount of revenue from taxes

waaaaaay to expensive. they have stuff like that for desiel, you can make it bio desiel, or run off veggie oil. and you can get an after market kit for gas power motors to run off ethenol

sounds like a good idea to me. it would be hard to make it inexpensive, but it could happen

although this is a great idea, I think it is way to privatized for Americans. The best way for this country to really do something about the issue of global warming and emissions, etc. is for the government to play a strong role in enforcing our behavior through the use of taxes and new laws, not only on citizens but on the businesses that own the means of production, specifically those whose products heavily influence the issue of global warming.

are you retarded? humans arent the main cause of green house gas emmissions; the fucking ocean is. it makes more co2 than us and makes water vapor which is the most abundant greenhouse gas.

between buying a kit and installing it, a new car WOULD probably be cheaper
