yeah, unfortunately he is right. Shinbang occurs exactly how it sounds: your shin loses contact with the tongue or your boot and then bangs back into it, which causes bruising and soreness. Work on skiing more aggressively in a forward stance and landing forward.
I get shin problems because my calfs are wide at the top but get thin fast so if I get it tight enough at the bottom, I have no circulation, but it I can still feel my foot its too loose, but my boot fitter told me he would get me those rubber tongue inserts to take up some room, and I'm thinking about getting smaller liners
pretty much your best bet is to work out your legs and get them bigger, me and my brother both have the same size foot but he has skinny little legs and he gets shin bang alot worse then me because i have pretty thick legs
but booster straps are pretty much amazing as well and have really stoped alot of the shin bang problem he was having so you may want to invest in some booster straps if you plan on keeping your SPKs
i think that may be my problem too cuz if i tighten my boot up, my foot gets numb, so i cant tighten it all the way, hence my boot being too loose in the bottom section, therefore shinbang
what is the resolution for this?
my boot fitter said to give the rubber tongue inserts a try and if that doesn't work then il try booster straps, and if that doesn't work il try shintronics and if all else fails il get new boots
