Swallow Tails

Never skied a ski with swallow tails. Apparently they're supposed to help you lean back more and plane in the powder, and they look dope. What are your guys thoughts on swallow tails for big mountain skis like AK Rockets and Sanouks?

I would love to live somewhere where I'd have to buy them, but even then, I'd probably still buy some big twins so I could land switch.

yea, they reduce the lift of the tail, while still providing the edge length, letting you plane up easier.

Seems tight, I'd be down if they weren't so damn expensive. So its true that a 195cm swallow tail skis like a 185?

if the swallow portion of the tail is ten cenitmeters long, then yes.

well, not really. the purpose of them is to keep the effective edge, while reducing the lift at the rear of the ski.
