Uncrossed mute is not uncrossed mute it's called a seatbelt! And the greater skiing community needs to increased seatbeltness. For reference see turpings sw. 7 at the wsi like 4 years ago (it's unforgetable so if you don't remember it you either didn't see it or don't ski).
Uncrossed mute and seatbelt are not the same. Seatbelt is in critical position but you grab on the outside of the ski instead of the inside. In an uncrossed mute, you pull your legs back more into mute position but with no cross.
Pretty sure a seatbelt grab is called so because you have to reach across your body, as if you were connecting a seatbelt to your lower left boot/ski (if grabbing with your right hand). Not because your just reaching down to grab your right ski. It's all about the reach across (around? heh).
I google image searched "uncrossed mute" and "seat belt." These are the respective images that first came up. One is a sick photo, the other is not. Google doesn't lie folks.
