It’s all over the news but a recent poll on American Muslims shows that 5% of them have a favourable view of Al-Quida. Does this not freak anyone out at all? In the news they portray these results as if they are a good thing and that it’s only 5%. Five percent means that there are ~150,000 Muslims that think Al-Quida does good things. What the fuck?

theres a muslim girl in my class that says acts of terrorism such as car bombs and shit like that are ok and she thinks hezbollah is a kind organization building hospitals and roads.

Hizbollah is doing a lot more for the people of Lebanon than the government ever has. They ARE building hospitals and roads. Their radical military actions just cover the fact that they are doing well for the country. The country of Lebanon has had the shit kicked out of it by Israel for the past 25 years.

no. mother fuckers strapped to bombs are crazy ass people convinced by cowards that they are going to get 70 virgins. soldiers from the us in iraq are brave people that chose to go there and they walk around in uniform knowing that some radical could come and kill them at any moment while they are walking down the street. and most soldiers dont shoot at little kids and moms, but if they do it is to save lives because they might be the desperate motherfucker

Soldiers are brave people, but that doesn't change the fact that they are the same as the people they are shooting at.

damnet, every post today I hit enter before I finish.

This direct connection would be tangible justification for going into Iraq (not saying that anybody SHOULD agree if this is true, just pointing out new info) and would actually make the 'pawns of a stupid war' comment rather irrelevant, assuming that it's truthful information, and also assuming that the person who posted the 'pawns of a stupid war' wasn't a conscientious objector in general.

I actually do honestly think that those muslim radicals believe that they will get 70 virgins. You have to be mentally unstable to even think about walking into a cafe with tnt strapped to yourself and then blow yourself up sending shrapnel into innocent people. my point of view, being muslim, is that strapping yourself to a bomb and killing innocent civilians is rediculous. I believe that theres jihad, then theres just plain irrational rediculous actions. torturing and killing other muslims is of the greatest sins. As for other things, i feel that the US gov is absolutely retarded. The consequences of fighting a war like this is so blatantly clear and they still cannot comprehend it. If you fight against a people who have no unified force and also have a corrupted religious vision, bombing/suicide, hostages and such are their only way to fight a super power. With concern to the war, i think the US should get the fuck out basically, its too dangerous and not worth the money and soldiers lives. Let those people kill themselves, its not a US issue. After removing sadaam, its not a UN issue. Democracy will never work in an area like that, so dont even try. To make it clear also, i say terrorism and al queda's tactics are evil

Iraq was never a justified war, so no.  At the time of our presidents announcement, North Korea was threatening the world with nukes and was being downright nasty on the world table. At best, we had sketchy intelligence that (suprise suprise) turned out to be wrong. Kinda makes you wonder why we invaded when there were much more prominent and pressing problems that needed (and still have not had) resolution.

It really leaves you to wonder if the war was not preemptive, but premeditated. But that can be a thread in itself.

uhh, left winged station? Sure they have Olbermann but don't forget about Tucker and Scarborough... certainly not 'only' lefty; they're pretty balanced in regards to the station's programming and the hosts of those shows being at both ends.
