Alright so next year I'm going to college and I'm gonna get a macbook pro, but I'm not sure when to get it, because it seems like everytime I buy something from apple they come out with a new version like 2 weeks later. Just curious if anyone knows if they are going to come out with new versions soon (i dont mean new models, just upgrades or price drops) or where I could find this out that would be cool. thanks.
wait until the end of the year in january they will release the rew rosa intel chip..... just like the new chip they put in the macbook boosting the speed up to 3ghz possibly.
like everyone is saying at least wait until WWDC but u might have to waitt a little longer im not sure. whats gonna blow is buying it then in october having to buy leopard when it drops.
Leapord is coming in June. The rumor that it might be delayed until October was false. As for the initial question, it is rumored that apple will come out with a new macbook pro at WWDC, but I would wait until the summer when they have the student deals like skinskier13 said. If you need to know how to get education discounts, just ask.
i bought one last september. definetely wait until the fall. also use the education discount. i did that, plus they gave me a free 4gig nano and a nice printer/scanner/copier free. i'd say wait at least until leopard comes out. also, if you're going to be paying for software (adobe cs3, mac office 2004, ect) get it through school. they give amazing edu discounts. mac office at my school was like 15 bucks. and cs2 was like 350.
Definately use the education discount. Go check out Macrumors.net, they have the sweetest forum ever, and they'll be able to answer any question you might have.
