Alternative to lexan???

search bar next time( or look through threads because cults dont have search bars), but hdpe is a little less expensive and some mountains use this. or you could use like 6 pvc pipe all next to each other, composite decking ( cheap, but doesnt slide as well), or plexiglass, which is known to shatter.

not if you get the non-acrylic type....that stuff is durable as hell then...me and a friend stood on a piece that we  laid across 2 - 2x4's on the ground and it didnt crack or anything

yeah hdpe is the way to go. Still kinda expensive though. U can get it at usplastics.com

what about this stuff? it says it high impact resistent and a full sheet of it is 4ft x 8ft for like $40

i dont know how it would work, but you probably would have to pay for bulk shipping, which i heard is really expensive.

yeah but i think its really thin. It says .100 thick but im not sure what that is in.

doesn't look like a bad idea, i wonder if they would have that at like home depot... it looks slippery but i would really have to see it for myself b4 throwin money down.

if you look up plastics in the yellow pages of you phone book, you can probably find a business that sells hdpe that is alot cheaper than on the internet. i bought a 48 X 48 sheet .25 inches thick for 36 dollars at a local business.
