Dude...what happened to them. It is the most emo CD I have heard in forever.
Songs called Valentine's Day and Bleed it out......are you fucking kidding? I listen to them when Hybrid theory came out and it was sick. What the fuck happened to them.....
meh i didnt think it was that good. def wayyy different than their other albums. it had one or two good songs but there was wayyyy too much chester and not enough mike. i always thought reanimation was the shit tho
haven't heard any songs, but from numerous articles i read they said the reason for changing their style was just to challenge themselves and see if they could do it. they don't need the money at all, they just felt like they would go in a totally diff direction than the metal/hip-hop blend everyone was used to. it was something they felt good about making and didn't really care what other people felt about it.
I just heard it... not at all what I was expecting...
I started listening to linkin park in 03 when meteora came out. Something about EVERY SINGLE ONE of their songs had this energy that just got me fired up and ya know.. just put that feeling through your body.
Pretty much every song on their new album was dull, had no energy, and made me want to just fall asleep. it didn't get me amped up like their other albums.
I'd say they should go back to their old style.. the style people who were their fans liked and wanted to hear out of them... not some new shit just because they wanted a challenge.. how about they challenge themselves with their same style but even better..?
i used to like them back with hybrid theory. then one day I realized every linkin park song was the same:
1. start off mellow in the music department
2. start singing pretty normally, most likely whining about something, like how you're not going to be like your parents or some shit
3. kick in the hardcore music, go from singing to screaming
4. don't forget the guy with the low pitched, monotone voice slowly saying something
5. oh yeah, put some scratching in there, need the hip hop element
i agree other than reanimation. on that album they brought in ppl like black thought, amp live and zion, etc. to remix their songs and it came out sickkkk
