Because it has synths in! how the hell is MSTRKFT not electro enough? There are a lot of new 'electro' acts around at the moment, some are almost indie, some are almost dance, I don't care, most of them rock.

its funny how everytime someone makes a thread on this there are many arguements about what genres certain bands are.

but i like the sounds, shiny toy guns, ladytron, etc. i donno what exact genre they belong too but whatever

Just saying, not trying to be argumentative. I'd just call it indy.
Some of the new stuff coming out is okay, but I tend to go old school if you're talking electro-rock kinda stuff.
Velvet underground started getting into this, but it was with nico, and nico is, well.. no replacement for Lou.

A lot of them could also be called 'dance-punk' or 'nu-rave' or 'electroclash' or whatever, it's hard to define lots of bands as a certain genre, cause lot's of them are very different. I think I know what the thread starter means though, and I agree with him!

I saw them in montreal a couple weeks ago, they opened for peter bjorn & john.
fujiya and miyagi are a fucking excellent group. Au Revoir Simone also opened, they too have much talent and I really enjoyed them.

but yes, im all for indie electronic stuff, bands like "The Mary Onettes" just to name one are astonishing.

Alice in Videoland?    I wouldn't call it indie elctronica but some of you called the sounds and shiny toy guys indie elctronica whihc i don't think works either......anyways these guys are like realy elctronical.....but its has consitent volcals liek a real song.

Skodeo, again with the quality albums of great music.

What do I have to contribute? Huh... I dunno, I guess if you want some kinda chillout indie sorta electronic you might try the album Feel Good Lost by Broken Social Scene. They did kinda a instrumental / experimental album, I kinda like some of the songs on there.

Also, if you havent heard of MC Chris, get "Fettes Vett", great song.
