Tj Max doesn't have skis, gloves or poles. They don't put money into magazines, contests or videos that support skiing either.

Do the world a favour and out of that list, only bother with Decade and Jibij.
I haven't shopped at either, but any shop that keeps rollerblading alive can suck it, the guys who run Decade seem alright, and Jibij = best team updates in skiing, along with a sense of humour, so really, you can't go wrong.

D-Structure is the shit too man, who cares if they have rollerblade? Personally I don't give a fuck. If you don't like rollerblade just don't look at it and check out the ski section.

Core is the most overused word usually by a bunch of posers who talk about how great they are but rarely have the scars to prove it.

Sense of humor, so hot right now. But seriously, the shops you listed sound good, why not just go there, aren't they "core" enough for you?

Tramdock is nice~
They shipped over $1500 of skis and backpacking stuff all the way to Baghdad with no problems! I even made a return there FROM here, and the turnaround on the new gear was less than a week. Mind you this is Iraq @_@;
Excellent support. Totally beats the small stores in customer attention. Only qualm is not enough skis in stock! Even getboards has more!
Regards,

If you want to buy really core and quite cheap, order striaght from the companys themselves. Just ring up 4frnt or so one like that and i am sure that they will be able to hook you up.

tramdock is part of backcountry.com who does a good job of seperating their focus on different niches without most people knowing. they run backcountry.com, backcountry outlet, dogfunk.com, steepandcheap.com, tramdock, and whiskey militia. i wouldn't consider them a so-called "core" shop for skiing. they've got their hands in a lot of markets. that's not to say, though, that they don't do a good job at selling and shipping things. it's not that hard for some guy to stuff you skis in a box and ship it to your house. although the concept seems to elude getboards...

i don't know how you guys think that proctor jones and tramdock are core. i work in a pretty badass shop. well sell a ton of awesome brands, have a great customer base, and we support the fuck out of our local competitions (put up skis, bindings, all sorts of stuff for prizes). we don't sell shit over the internet, but i think a solid local shop like we have is about as core as you get.
