saftey is pretty basic.. just suck your knees up and grab underneath your boot on the ski. japan tyoo, same as saftey but rech behind your binding with right hand on left ski. octo grabs are pretty basic too
im a blunt fan personally, and if you can cross your skis and grab and spin, than you'll be set for further progression. go for 180's so you can get used to landing switch, and 3's once you are comfortable landing jumps.
id say first just try safety grabs to get you comfortable doing something in the air. and ski backwards, get used to that and then do a 180. learn iron crosses or something else to do in the air. then try to take off switch and do 180s switch then go for the 360.
I started skiing last season (came over from boarding) and there is a lot of good advice here, get comfortable with switch as soon as possible, it will be totally natural if you do. Try doing 180's everywhere and when you get those good take it to the noob park jumps and go for 360's. Start doing boxes straight on and then start rotating 90 onto them (180's can help here), try rotating off to regular and fakie just to get used to it, maybe even try rotating the opposite way than you normally do. Once you have boxes down step up to rails. The hardest thing about any of these tricks is psyching yourself out. If you get all of those down you should be good enough to know how to progress, it all pretty much builds on that stuff.

hit bigger jumps and just straight air them
whatever grabs you want
180's off of small jumps then progress into 360s
bring spins to bigger jumps
start off on simple boxes for trying rails

definitely learn to ski switch and get comfortable landing switch..i was doing 180's off of 20-40 foot kickers before i could even do a half decent 360..and even now i usually like to land switch
try skiing boxes straight accross first.. then start shifying in to sideways.. always hunch down with your hands over your knees, and on a box or rail lean onto your front foot. get used to jumps and switch. and try just going switch off a jump.. cause then youll be set for switch 180s and normal 180s. 3s are pretty simple.. you just gotta give it a try. then add grabs n shit.
first you should work on 180s over really small jumps and bumps and stuff just to get your balance down and also work on switch skiing so you will feel comfortable landing backwards and eventually taking off backwards. then you should try a three off a small jump and after you get that stuff down you should go to the bigger jumps and just get comfortable going off them and just do some safety grabs and then maybe a tail grab or blunt air then it is pretty much up to you what you want to do
learn how to spring off the lip of a jump. a lot of beginers ski off a jump without any spring. if you dont spring, you wont be able to learn tricks. jump off the lip, then suck up your feet to your upper torso and grab saftey. once you get this down, try crossed variations like mute and tail. do these grabs on bigger jumps, and try 180s on small jumps around the maoutain. and like people have said before, mess around on small boxes, and ski backwrds on mellow runs.
front flips are soooooooo easy, easier than 360's for me, but you just have see what you are good at, try on a tramp see what motions are most comfortable for you.
start hitting jumps and learning to hit a jump going fast. try baby grabs with no spin of those jumps. then do 180's off baby jumps and ride switch as obsoletely as much as possible, like between jumps and anywhere you can. then just keep adding to that
yeah, all those things sound really good. That's what i'm doing, and it's helped me progress so fast.
Also, watch lots of ski movies. I was able to get a box sideways within about 5 tries on my first day. I watched tons of ski movies, so i knew the stance subconciously.
My friend doesn't watch any, and he tried about 10 times, and isn't even close. Could be the ski movies, i dunno.
