Update: 33 days in a coma, but showing good signs

I just wanted to thank everyone on NS who gave thier good vibes to our team rider James Farmer who has been in a Coma for 33 days now. His head injury was a result of taking a big hit on a landing at Big Bear last Easter. James's Family was overwhelmed by the show of support for their Son. While James is still in a Coma, He has now been able to open his eyes, and has been taken off the respirator to breath on his own.
James's Father e-mailed me this today:
"paul,James is going to be OK.I now am sure! today he and I stared into each others eyes for about 20 mins as I spoke to him and he was there and listening. i could tell he was trying to respond to me It was amazing he,s almost there!. Peace-Gordon."

My best friend was in a coma for six weeks. James' recovery reminds me of my friend's. After he officially "woke up" from his coma, he rapidly began to speak again, and came back to school the following year to continue his tough, advanced placement schedule. Walking was a bit tougher for him to get back, but he rides a tandem bike with his dad every weekend now. Before his accident, he was one of the strongest kids around, and now he's lifting with the best again. I know your friend will pull through, just be there for him with positive vibes.
