Burning Spear, Toots, Third World, Sizzla (more dancehall style but still good), Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, UB40, Peter Tosh (solo stuff), Damian Marley, Alpha Blondie, etc...

If you want REAL roots raggae listen to

Desmond Decker, it mite be spelt Dekker...

He is fucking awesome. He practically invented raggae. he's sooo good.
also, check out a band called 'The Maytones' they are like the Toots, cept less popular. But their wicked sweet!

its Dekker. and check out the Chantells. i love roots reggae. its better than dancehall. peter tosh, Steel Pulse and Marley are my fav. roots artists

Yeah Peter Tosh was killed just like they tried to do to Marley. Steel Pulse is dope, just can't get enough, I got this album called 'Darker than Blue' its a compilation from the 60's or 70's its really good...
