Would I lose respect if I were to be sponsored by an energy bar company, sunscreen company, and energy drink company? Can you have to many sponsors?

dude, you gotta make money...and if a company offers you money and or a sponsorship that allows you to ski more for less...than thats fine by me! I'd love for skiing to be a job too! of course theres more stress from having to do well in comps and have killer video parts, but skiing is skiing!

if I was good enough to actually represent a company, I would do so for any company who's product I respected.  If they think you are cool  enough to give you money or free product, and they are a decent company, go for it for sure

I was once a terrible racer and had a strange sponsorship...
A few strange ones precisely
One japanese company who sold eyedrops with menthol in them
A pachinko club (run by the mob!)
An all-girls private school
and strangest is probably a local police station!
We had free eyedrops and other health things the company sold, the pachinko bar would buy whatever I told them to, the girls school ran a small hot spring hotel that was onthe campus (!!!) and let us in free, and police gave up my speeding violations!
So, strange sponsors are not always a bad thing

I say sponsorship is cool and give a sense of support from both parties. But when it's shit that has nothing to do with skiing (or boarding, or skating, or Uno, etc) it's kinda dumb. Like the energy drink crap with monster, rockstar, mountain dew and ever red bull sometimes. I've never had red bull once while doing any sports, on late night uni-finals studying. And like Target, and nike basically just dipping their balls into the soft gold just to get some pocket liner if stupid also in my opinion. Check out Scotty Wittlake, that dude knows where it's at.

A good company knows where to advertise. An energy drink's primary consumer is the 12-25 year old male. And what does the 12-25 year old male do? ACTION SPORTS.

Skiing, Boarding, Motocross, Skateboarding, Surfing, Biking. All perfect advertisements. Especially when they hold comps.

Notice how Red Bull pretty much owns the Freestyle Motocross scene.

I would say it depends on whether you are getting hooked up by ur sponsors. if a sponsor is hooking you up well, helping you get ur name out there then you should rep them all the way. Dont try to get sponsored just so you can say you are that is retarded.

I find these days it is very rare to have sponsor pay you real money. Usually unless you are winning the competition or similar thing you just get free stuff.
Still, free is good!

Yes I always agree things like skiing are a hobby, not a job. It's okay if you can make some money but I only wore sponsor gear on the races. It is hassle having to wear sponsor gear or skis if you don't really like them. When you are paid you're expected to use that gear only. Not for me!
