is it just me or do all the people you meet while your not skiing who say they "ski" suck and most of the time dont even know what kind of skis they have? Three people in my school acctually SKI and the rest suck ass but they say they can "ski" and im shure they can but fuck im talking about skiing more than 5 times a year. do any of you guys have this problem?
no i get it but its hella anoying because i'll finde out that some one skis and i get siked out and then i finde out that they dont even know whats skis they have and that they can turn
ya man totally, ive had acouple of people like that. I end up taking them to the mts. and they suc balls and slow me down. It sucs cuz me and my normal shredding crew ride at a FAST pace and these people say their FAST!!! and realy they only ride greens... so now i wait to see a video or run into them at the mts. to see how they are before risking taking them.
haha. don't have this problem cuz my hills so small i know everyone. some lame ass kids ski a few times a week but always bring their fat friends and they never progress. they always want to ski with me so i just rip switch whenever i hit a run or two with them
yeah there is this one kid at my school. i heard he skis so i asked him if he was good and he said yeah hes pretty damn good. turns out, being "good" to him means being able to jump off 2 ft jumps.
Not to sound like a total arrogant twat or anything...
I find that when people find out I can ski they ask how many times have I been skiing. I have to just say I go a lot, ever since I was young. Then they always ask, "so are you good?", which just makes me cringe cos I always have to end up explaining my lifes history of skiing.
The worst thing is when people say "I ski", but they only go once every three years for a week and then try to get into deep conversations about equipment and how sunglasses are far cooler than goggles, I find it best to just lay off the subject.
i hate it more when everybody says "you ski, you cant ride a longboard"
i just want to backhand them
but yea, at my school, theres like 3 hardcore skiers, and the rest just lie
i hate it when that happens and it happens at my school all the time. like earlier thsi year a kid was like ya i can ride everything and he couldnt even get out of fucking snowplow it was horrible.
also i hate when a kid asks me if i race. i want to shoot them or even bettter if a person asks me if i have the skis with double-tips then asks if i can ski backwards its like shut your fucking hole
oh well maybe im too easily pissed on this but it gets old when it happens all the time
this seems to be a common problem. At my high school, nobody was good at skiing, yet they all said they skied, it bothered my but whatever.
Now that i'm in college, everybody claims to ski, yet can't. One kid claimed he had been sponsored by salomon and oakley, yet couldn't even grind unnatural.
True skiers just say that they ski. You know one when you meet one.
do older people ask if you snow ski? I get that alot its really annoyingb, i want to explain that no one cross country skis and no one water skis that much anymore, but never do because i know they won't care. Snow skiing it sounds so wrong
there are maybe 2 posers with twins in my whole school. none on NS, and only 2 others on NS from my town. Everyone just poses at snowboarding, and there's a few really hardcore snowboarders who i end up hanging out with.
All the "Skiers" at my school go 5 times a year max, and stick to "Hard Blues".
im pretty sure im the only one from golden on NS besides my Friend from who lives in calgary.
the school is mostly snowboarders, acouple racers, the casuel skiers and 3 dirty hardcore ski bums(were usually critizied for being ski bums) while the local pros usually go unnoticed
i love it when you meet a new kid, find out that they ski and ask them how good they are and all they have to say is that they have fun, then you hit the slopes with them and they start of by disatering a flat down and kill it the rest of the day... cuz you know they are just having fun
Most people at college here actually ski when they say "I ski." I ran into a guy just in passing, and it turns out he rides 30+ at my local area, and I've never seen the guy around. Most boarders dont give hate either in my experience... everyones just kinda chill.
Yeah. Of the kids who I've skied with from school, none of them rip. They just ski. They can usually keep up, but I've been known to destroy them on occasion.
haha dude who cares if there good or not, to them not fallin is good, maybe to you being smooth and doin tricks makes you good, but point is worry about yourself and have fun SKIING. sounds like yall are skiing to get good not for fun
one of my aquaintancess used to say that i wasnt allowed to skateboard because i ski. like he was going to call the boardshredder police or something and tell them i wasn't a core boarder like rocketpower.
my 2 cents is, ive noticed people who brag about their abilities suck, and people who dont brag are pretty good. also, i ski with a lot of people who are not so good, but they have fun and theyre my friends, so who cares? i also ski with people who are real good but are still doing it for fun and have a great time.
if youre too lazy to read that^ pretty much if youre out there to have a good time it doesnt matter how good you are.
yes this happens to me, i hate when kids try and tell you bullshit like ya dude i 360 up onto this rail and then i 540 off........ i just go along with it though even though you would horribly rack yourself if you 360 onto a rail
no i totally agree thats what the sport is sbout haveing fun and skiing because you like to ski i just hate the OMG u ski and then there like ya i went like 4 times this year its just like getting ur report card and its hella good and then realizing its not urs kinda thing
if that didnt make sense im sorry main thing is as long as they can fairly keep up(just going down the hill) then im good and i usually have hella fun
i hate it when people ask me if I'm good. Its like, what does taht even mean? I think of good in the sense of like, andy or pep or someone, but to tell someone i've been skiing for like 17 years and I suck at it doesn't make a lot of sense either.
