^Yeah way to kiss some ass mister 66 posts it must suck talkin about this. We wouldn't want to talk about who the best skier is on a skier website in a ski gabber forum, that would be TOTALLY lame. So guys, who do you think the best snowlerblader is huh? Cuz I think it could be any one of you.
I'm going with Tanner, if you think about it, he kills in some many areas of the sport, urban, pipe, big air, slopestyle, booters, powder it's rediculous.
quite likely, if you are looking at freeriding, some heli guide in alaska would be insane. you cant really say who is the best skier cos skiin is a subjective sport
There is no best skier, there are the best skiers however, and to find that out you would ask all the pros what they thought, and this is who they would tell you is the best right now. Candide Thovex, Jon Olsson, Tanner Hall, and Seth Morrison.
there are so many microcosms that exist within the sport of skiing that it is essentially pointless to say "so and so is the best skier". hugo harrison rips big lines, seth morrison chucks off big cliffs, ian mcintosh scorches technical death lines, sammy carlson slays rails, jon olsson kills big kickers, tj schiller tweaks grabs, pete olenick talks trash, etc... although skiers like pollard, fujas, and mahre exist who are beginning to bridge the gaps between individual microcosms, it's still retarded to say one person is overall better than anyone else.
Candide... Straight the Fuck up No one touches candide.... wait till he starts doing doubles next year... Kills Fukin Big mountain, Goes bigger in pipe than almost anyone, wins x games slope. and his parts in his movies are lik 10 mins long and every fukin Trick is insane and so creative and different.. All the other skiers work for 5 months for a 2 mins part and candide has had a 8 to 10 min part for 6 years thats sicker than anyone elses
tanner won x games slope too, a few times, and it didnt take him 10 years to do it. that argument doesnt quite work. and candide wasnt doing any new grabs up until the last year, just tail and mute. his parts were always somewhat boring to me just because it was the same stuff. he hasnt done any doubles yet, at least not in competition, so i mean, hes still a bit behind, at least in progression.
that said, he kills it, hes an innovator of the sport and hes still young, which is impressive as hell that hes been pushing it for so long, and from such a young age.
personally, im gonna have to go with jon. not necessarily my favorite skier, but he was doing sw rodeos wayyy back, pioneered the double flip and can do quite a few variations of it, he hosts probably the most progressive comp of the season, kills big mountain enough to win national competitions, and does all of this completely effortlessly. hes got a whole bunch of grabs too, and was doing true nose grabs before most people. as far as all around skiers, my vote goes to jon.
but blake nyman has got to be the one i see myself looking up to.
Candide kills it , Big deal tanner won x - games a few time tanner is sick, but he doesnt touch candide in all round skills.. As for candides grabs his true tails are sooo sick he never needed to grab any differently.... When some one else does a cork 810, slides every rail he tried 1st try... Had one of the sickest pipe runs ever at x games this year and then won x games slopestyle.. and his segmants are the best every single year if they bore you then welll go see some one about that... Candide is the most talented skier to ever walk the face of the earth end of story
I really like candide yes... but I also really like Seth morrision, Tanner, Jon, Henrick, Rory Bushfield, Pep, and Brandon Becker and Andy Mahre and Pollard but for straight up all round talent the best skier ever is candide... but I think Andy and pep and pollard ar ethe most inavative at this present time
i completely agree, there are some that are super good at urban, others at backcountry, pipe riders and all around park riders... NO WAY TO JUDGE ALL THAT INTO ONE
what i find amusing, is the start of this thread; "without doubt the best skier is either..." so its not without doubt if there's a competition for top spot in your eyes. so that i don't completely shirk the question, i enjoy pk hunder
werd^^. and all the pros are so damn good what makes one guy better than another. they're all doing different shit so its really tough to compare them to eachother.
