yo im actually a snowboarder but i really enjoy both and am startin to freestyle ski for the next few years... i had some questions in regards to skis and gear...i've done a few boxes and jumps on skis but nothing serious but im going to be mainly a park rider i was considering line chronics or line anthems..i am about 6 foot 160 and need some good gear any ideas or reviews of those skis? thanks in advance for the help
ya well i've done plenty of research thru magazines and internet and stuff but mags are a paragraph and the interent claims every ski to be the best of the best and doesnt state tis flaws...i need some real reviews
wow im so glad you positivley added to this thread. Shut the fuck your newb
now to the thread creator, I was a big fan of the anthems. I got a chance to demo them last year befor the whole lawsuit thing and I thought they were a really good park/all mountian ski. Right now however i am on some 08 dynastar trouble makers and I love them. Im 6'1 and 195lb and use the 176 size. They handle well in everything and take a real good beating. The price is decent and so far I have yet to have a durability issue. I mounted them -1.5 from true center to allow for some all mountian capabilites and I lost nothing in the park from doing that. They handle well switch and can even hold their own in the powder when nessary. Overall one of the best twins I have ever owned and if the do brake im gona buy another pair. Over all a really great ski.
well if you could do jumps im assuming that you allready know how to ski, if youre looking for a park only ski check out the anthems or the invaders cuz soft skis are fun in the park, post your size also like weight and stuff
there really not that bad for size, tho if i do order another set i was thinking of the 181. It all depends on what dynastar can hook me up with, cause when its cheep i dont complain
well ya i am lookin for a mostly park ski...i can ski and am pretty good on the moutain im lookin for a main park ski that can still take on the mountain if needed the anthems i like but i dont know much about the invaders or ar6s i actually was considering the trouble makers, though
well, it seems like people are mad about my "searchbar" comment, so I guess i'll recommend a pair. If you want to take these all mountain, look towards the PE or chronic, more park specific, and go towards some rossi, or even some fisher addicts (they are stiff to give you some leeway on landings). If you want some serious buttering: anthems, and invaders are nice, and if you won't be on rails, the pipe cleaners are gold.
But seriously, a quick search could have answered all these questions.
seachbar? dude did you even read the fucking thread. he made one of the fucking best what should i get for skis threads i've ever seen becasue no one had to ask him his ability and shit plus he only hes knew and actaully read before he posted.
Welcome to NS by the way
for skis if you just want to conider the anthem or the chonics i'd go chonic because they slay the park and the all mountain. I don't know much about the anthem abilities besides they are a full park symetrical monster.
Armada Elray's are also another smart ski on the price. the reviews i've read sound pretty good.
yo thx to everybody who helped out im really leaning towards the anthems they seem like the best fit for me at a reasonable price i was gonna go w/ the mid to high 160 range as far as length, i like them slightly shorter....?
its all up to you, but most ppl on hear have hopped on the "longer skis are better" bandwagon so expect ppl to say thats too short. If you like short skis, anything up to like 174 is short for your size with 160 being super-short and probably not that good of a choice if you venture out of the park as they will feel flimsy.
yeah dude, go at least mid 170's. you won't be disappointed. once you get better and start going faster/bigger, you'll be stoked that you have a more stable ski beneath you.
well im 5' 11" and im rockin the 181 ar6's and the are a super solid ski they are good for park and all mtn. and i also use them on groomers and i used em in pow on a ski trip and they werent to bad
First off, everyone flaming the searchbar dude just shut up. he is right, there a fucking bagillion what skis should i get threads. Second, you are a beginning skier who wants to ski mainly park, and believe me to you a park ski is a park ski is a park ski. I doubt you will even be able to tell a difference at your ability so waht I recommend is get whatever you can find the best deal on. Seriously.
Oh, and despite your ability, at your size get something in around a 180. every single ski company makes a park ski within centimeters of that length, and it is perfect for park. Center mount them, and if they are still to much to handle well...they won't be, believe me.
haha geez ok i guess i was way short...anywho i guess i want a 170 range...i priciate all the help im def leanin towards a line ski whether it be a chronic, invader, or anthem they seem to make good park skis and my east coast ice 1-minute runs shouldnt bang em up to badly everywhere else 171? i feel like they need to be somewhat short for whippin spins around and what not .. im sure u get used to em tho i guess
dont think you need to short skis to whip around like most prefer a short snowboard to whip around if your guna go something in the 170's i would get nothing less then 176 dude
yea dude i switched from snowboarding and i thought the same thing but it makes no difference whatsoever check the 171 or 176 i think the 176 would be perfect for you
