they could if they want to, its a peaceful "political" rally. it basically 20 thousand stoners blazing in queens park, then marching through downtown. on one starts shit, so cops turn there back
they can't do anything because:
a) there were like a million people there, so how are they going to arrest a million people?!? not gonna happen!
b) i heard that it was actually legal that day, in queens park... but nowhere else.
either way, they don't do shit. unless ur drinkin under-age... then they book you
it's just an excuse for stoners to say "i got high at queens park" do you actually believe that 70% of people that were there really did care about medical use of marijuana and issues other than flat out legalizing it (which will never happen)?
the whole thing sounds fucking retarded to me. no, im not against smoking weed by any means. i just don't care about it so much as to take an entire day to rally for some futile reason.
i was there, and it definitely was more of a stoned gathering/festival than a politcal rally.
whatever though, it was an awesome fuckin time, so many people everywhere, getting so ripped and then marching through downtown toronto was a blast, but the gathering in the park before/after was the best, ive never seen so many stoned people, and there was definitely a message sent purely by the number of people there supporting legalization.
It may not have been a very organized political gathering but it was fun as hell seeing all the people there, smoking openly and just being there to support the cause
it is sick. just huge amounts of people chilling. big hacky-sack circles, bands playing, food stalls selling rediculously over-priced food, hangin in the park... w/e it is it's sick!
