Saftey Meetings: Mandatory.

I think these should be mandatory, as skiing the park can get a bit dangerous some times. Just mellow out with a saftey meeting and everything will be safe and smooth.

Its all common sense, it's really not that complicated. 1. Only hit a jump you know how fast you have to go/have seen someone else hit/follow someone who has hit it before. 2. If someone looks like they fall, wait for them to appear. 3. Don't try something you know you can't do. 4. If you don't think you have enough speed, bail

Usually inside jokes are best left on the inside. How the fuck are 100,000 members supposed to get it. Foo'

It's always good to stop and have a safety meeting.
Here are some things to check for that most people forget:
Make sure everyone's chin strap is securely buckled
Check for loose clothing that could get caught in the chairlift
Inspect ski edges for burrs that could cause someone to catch an edge
Check that everyone in the party knows where the ski patrol hut is in case of emergency
Agree upon a meeting place in case someone in the party gets lost or seperated
Use the buddy system, make sure everyone in the group still has their buddy with them

yea it's definately not just a west coast sessions thing. although it seems to be more of a west coast thing, i'd never heard it called a safety meeting till this winter when I was in CO for a while.

ya a friend of mine clued me in to the term in recent years, we would use it as code around his mom, which was a joke anyway cause she didn't care. Now i just crack up like I'm crazy every time someone at work says it's time for a safety meeting, kinda sucks having an inside joke you can't really explain at the workplace.

i cant believe how safe everyone was during that entire session. everyone definately had their hardhats, orange vests, wrist guards, and all sorts of pads on. i was actually the only dangerous one there, but i did catch some second hand safety
All times are Eastern (-5)
