mac is way better. its real easy to use, hella iser friendly. no viruses ever!! and never instal driver again. but the down side is that they dont support jibberish.
they are very very very very similar. macs are more oriented to people focusing more on media programs and editing programs. everyone says that they are soo different but they now are almost the same thing. macs seem to be overpriced and do not seem to have that great of hardware.
pc use to love mac but would never go back. we use macs at work they like to freeze all the time which is a pain in the ass. as for viruses yea pc's have them but if your not a dumbass(ie opening bad email etc.) you are less likely to get them. plus its not hard to have it run a check at night when your not useing your computer.
I have both a Mac and a PC and I definately like my mac much more than my PC. My Mac is just alot easier to use and doesnt always have problems with it like my PC does.
i use both, the macs freeze up alot. they do look better, and i dont like that mac mouses, not like that cant be changed though. for ppl saying that you can run xp on a mac, your right, and you can run os x on vista/xp. It all comes down to what you are comforatble with. If i was to get a desktop it would be a mac, but not for a laptop.
i have had a mac for about 2 a year now and have had few problems with it.. the only problem I have had, is when I am using final cut, sometimes the program will freeze. this is all mostly user error though.. macs are a way better choice if you have any interest in editing and photography.
i hate how all the mac people proclaim that macs can't get viruses. they can, just nobody bothers to make viruses for them. apple still only has a 2% market share. if you couldn't already tell, i like PCs better because they are much easier to mod, and you can do anything better on a PC than a mac with the exception of a couple graphic design type activities. not to mention games for macs are pretty much non-existant
Don't get a PC, Macs are amazing, I've had a mac for a year or so, and I have loved every second of it. Itunes runs amazing on it, so you don't have to worry about the format.
Macs are MARKETED towards creative people. There is nothing about OS X that makes it better for multimedia applications. Also macs are only more expensive because they use better hardware than your typical PC. Go to dells website and make a computer that has the same specs as a mac and I guarantee they'll be within 100 dollars of eachother.
I've preferred PC pretty much all my life, then all that was at school was mac (i still had a PC at that point) and I grew to like mac quite a bit. The main downside to mac is that there are so many things that they can't run. but they are much better for media editing and anything of that nature. Also, they get much better battery life and wireless connections. Now that the new macbooks can operate both OSX and Windows, I will definately be purchasing one. It's the best of both worlds... Although I hear that running both makes the comp hella slow - by comparison, anyway.
Well I've never tried different music files since I like itunes so much, but I'm sure you can get a program for it.
Whoever says mac's can't run as many programs that pc's can is stupid.
Also, about the price, there isn't that much difference, and you get so much more with the mac. Find me a laptop that is $100 that isn't a piece of crap.
The point is that windows runs on a really diverse hardware configuration. with all the competition prices are lower, not to mention economies of size allow parts to be produced cheaper. Yes there are shit PC's around but the reality is you have a much greater choice you can get a low end or an ultra high spec PC but also anything inbetween. With a Mac there isn't as much room to customise. If Mac were to sell their systems cheaper then possibly many more people would use them. However many people don't give a shit about their computer - they just want to get photos off their camera, surf the internet and write email and word documents. If Mac were to decrease prices though then they would damage their 'premium' brand image, as, in general people associate cost with value and performance.
But in the end, who really cares anyway. Its a computer.. no need to get so defensive about it
This is being discussed again? really?? this is a topic that will never be solved, people will always have their opinion, people will always argue over it... just drop it
