Utah liquor

Is it true they don't have real liquor? I've been hearing this and can't picture it being true but can any one tell me whats the deal there?

3.2% alcohol beer. the high altitude might help a little, but not enough.

liquor is the same, you just have to go to sketchy state liquor stores, but that's not too bad. Beer you buy from gas stations is 3.2% alcohol though, rather than 5 or whatever.

you can buy normal alcohol at the state run liquor stores, but its more expensive then most places ive been

in a bar, all hard alcohol is measured out by some super high tech pour machine, which i highly think cheats you into a bit less then a traditional shot, and especially sucks compared to 'free pour'

beer is 3.2 at bars/gas stations/ect, and full strength at liquor stores, but it costs a PREMIUM. A 24 pack of Molson Canadian cost me about 28 bucks less than a month ago

for those of you who dont live in utah, dont just make stuff up.
to quote kza from another thread,

Yeah people are like "HA have fun with 3.2 beer in college", and i just say "dude im not going to utah to party." I'm not too worried about it at all.

actually 3.2 weight is 4.0 volume. not 5. 5 is "real beer" ,like budweiser, not real man beer. the liquer is the same, but there is a huge state tax, and kegs are illegal. But evinston is an hour away so who cares.

the microbreweries here kick ass, you can get half off pitchers of shit that is for sure stronger than 3.2 because they can't regulate inconsistancies, and only have to send in one sample to the DABC.

Uinta makes one of my favorite barley wines, 12.4 percent.

here is an idea! If you dont drink, you dont have to spend money on alcohol. so you'll save money, and beable to wake up earlier to go skiing on those epic days instead of being passed out at some random house on some random couch w/ 15 other guys and 1 girl. Not drinking works great!

here's an idea... some people like to drink and enjoy it. Not everyone drinks to get blackout and pass out, unable to wake up till the next afternoon, so how about you stop assuming that's what drinking is all about and realize that it's not a problem if you are responsible...

And that's all comign from me, who doesn't drink at all.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, how are you soposed to 'drink it blue'????


And on the actual topic of the thread, When I was in Utah I was staying with a buddy who was in the Air Force, so we could go on base and get real alcohal, and it wasnt redicuously priced either.

In the end, learn how to brew your own beer, and then learn how to distill your own ethanol-based drinks, then you will be good to go, cheaper than anywhere else in the US!

colorado has a similar thing going on in that gas stations and grocery stores can only sell 3.2 beer. to get regular beer, you have to go to a liquor store. everything else is normal though.
