in all honesty probably not, maybe she could get some catalog shot or something if she rocked pole and broke that part time wedge, but sposorship is pretty much out of the question. my buddies son is 5 and way better, just won the NASTAR nationals for his age group by 9 seconds and throws legit 180s and skis switch pretty well and he couldnt get sponsored, got some shots in ski racing magazine and a couple other mags and catalogs, but his dad was told sponsorship is pretty much out of the question because he wouldnt help sales at all prolly till hes 10
so get her competeing and junk and try in a few years
hell no, i mean sure she can ski and all but that makes no sense at all. 1. she can't enter comps 2. you have to be able to do stuff no matter how young you are to get sponsored. 3. what would she ski their junior model? those are cheap anyway
all she's doin is ridin down a slope and occasionally switch with no poles.. i dont see any company wanting that, besides, she's 5. if u let her keep skiing, then maybe
some kid at my mtn is sponsored by nordica but at 3 he was skiing the mogul faster than his racing coach....racers suck hard in moguls. and at 4, he got a special permission to enter the nancy greene races which is 7-10 I think and he wins. he also started dh biking last summer at 4.... with those bikes that you pedal backward to stop...and asked me to teach him big airs, rail and other stuff, but his parents want him to take a shot at racing first. but the thing is, he like 1 1/2 feet so he looks really young
You get a sponsorship because they want someone reppin their company hard, and they want people to be like "wow that kids sick, maybe i should get some oakley puffy pants too! then i can be just as good!" cough cough tanner. People aren't going to look at a 5 year old and be like "omg i wanna be like her! get me those sweet k2 skis!" Everyone (all the responses in this thread included), and companies, are going to look at her and be like wow she shreds hard. Not, "I need to look like her to be good"
Sure your sister fuckin rips, I was damn impressed at her skiing and her confidence, which is KEY. Kids that young always have tons of confidence because they don't think they're guna get hurt, or that the consequences are bad at all. Keep that confidence instilled in her, and get her in the park more, if that's what SHE wants
Give her 5-10 years and she could be super super sick.
That is, if she keeps that confidence up and keeps shredding.
Which may not be a reality, sadly
