Bindings????

Alright so i have been having some trouble with bindings in general. Need alittle advice or first hand accounts

So i have been progressing as a skier and my bindings up until now have not been but through alot of abuse until this year. This year i decided to get a pair of Look Px12 Jibs cause i was told they are the dope shit. And in terms of performance they are. They never released on sketch landings, and on tweeked mutes. They only released when my leg was about to be torn off and i haven't had an injury on them all year they performed perfect in my opinoin. However 3rd day skiing they pulled out of my Ar6's and about 6 weeks later too. Also both brakes cracked and one eventually fell off and the other is almost there.

So it brings me to this i was considering a pair of pivot heels cause i herd there good stuff, or some salomon 914's or 916's for next year

Anyone let me know what a bombproof binding is that has performed good all year. I am sure other people might want to know aswell??????

yeah i went through brakes all the time on those. shops can put new ones in.  Id look into fks 120 if you want vertical release or 155. both are pretty bomber

The brakes on the fks style bindings are no better and are way harder to replace. and the mounting screws on racestocks will rip out just as easy if not easier than those bindings.  And I wouldn't recommend fks155 if you are skiing park because they dont have an upwards toe release, only he 120 does.

Ya incase anyone wasn't sure i'm lookin for park specific cause i ski in Ontario Canada and the only thing worth skiing is park

Well what happens is on switch landings, your binding releases and the brake is facing the opposite way it should, so it jams backwards and often pops out.  Your local shop should be able to just give you new brakes.  Maybe a couple bucks at most.  Thats pretty common on p serias and axials.  I went through 7 brakes in one season on pivots and i've never broken one on fks 120's, it is harder to replace if you do  though.  Salomns have less brake problems i believe but in general aren't as consistant of a release or bombproof as fks.  Have you considered 4frnt at all

i have considered 4frnt bindings but i was leaning towards pivots or salomon's just because i work at sport chek ( i know they blow, but it pays the bills) anyway i get  rossi, look, and salomons at cost.

I created a thread just like this the other day. I'm looking into some FKS 155, 914s, or Deadbolts for my new Prophet 100s. I can't decide though. Seems like the brake situation on the FKS is a lil tricky especially for some wide big mountain skis.

^The look freeride bindings come standard with a  wide brake but they are a lil harder to find

Check the JP vs Juliens. They are mounted at dead center with FKS 155s and I wouldnt have it any other way. They kiillll it!

dude pivots will do the exact same as the ones you have now, i broke 2 pairs of pivots in 3 months. not worth it, if your gonna get salomons think of a 916 if your big enough for it. other then that i strongly reccomend the 4frnt deadbolt...extremly solid

rossi/look breaks are horrible.
everyones break are horrible.
as long as you are not hurt... get whatever.
salomon bindings are dope, cause theyre crazy light and lo tech. breaks still break though.

sick quiver....fks are perfect for pow, but for hard packed hard switch landings id reccomend 4frnt deadbolts

thats the worst advise I have ever seen you give. Why would he need to jump from a 12 din binding to a 18din binding. Mabey the fks155s wouldnt be a bad idea but the p18's deffinatly are

if you have had problems with tear outs unfortunatly going to a a true pivot heel might not be the answer, but you cant find a better binding out there. It will only release if your going to die, and there are only 2 downsides to the binding. 1) there is no vertical release on the toe and 2) the brakes are a bitch to bend or replace. But even with those draws you still wont find a better binding on the market

why is that? I love my FKS bindings on groomers. I've used 4FRNTS and I kept popping out when my din was on 13.

yeah go with any FKS or look. b ut i think someone said that rossi was gonna stop making the FKS in a thread a while ago... maybe i heard wrong...

i broke my markers 8 times this year. they make good race bindings but there park ones are cheap, heavey, and flimsy.

i was kidding...

look jibs are nice. light and you dont pop out every time you do something. whatever you do, stay away from salomon s912. had em. brakes bent, popped out while riding, heel piece would push back at the end of every day. stay away

Well its either what looks he has and then its p18, i dont think the p12 and p15 race stokes are very abundant compared to fks120,155,185.

they may not be as abundant but they are a way better idea then going straight to a p18. Dont get me wrong I love that binding but its is a really really burly bindings, especially when you compare it to the px12, and the fks 120 and 155 are the same as the race stok p12 and 15, just a different colour. I dont disagree with your point that the binding system is great but i dont think a p18 or fks 185 is the answer

I personally think p18 and fks185 are total overkill. fks155 are perfect for me, keeping the din aroind 10-12.

hmm I bought the Look PX 12 Jib bindings spontaneously on SAC. has anyone else had them? feedback? I don't ride very hard so they should be adequate

I have a pair of Armada AR6's and I want a pair of really lightweight bindings that make the skis easy to carry around. My last skis (K2 Public Enemy 06) i bought as demos and they were mounted with racing bindings. The bindings were great but it made it a real pain to carry the skis anywhere. If anyone could recommend some lightweight park bindings, I'd appreciate it a lot

when ever i try to nose butter i pop out and i broke my broke my brake 3 times this season they jut arent as stirdy as look or rossi

look and rossi bindings are identical, just a different logo. Look is owned by rossi, and both bindings are made in the same factory, they just have a different logo slapped onto em.

My racing bindings are Rossignol Axial 2 120 Ti Pro Wide Brake Bindings. I've used them for only 1 season and they have a couple of small scratches but no major problems. They work great, never release when I don't want them to, and the only reason I'm not transferring them to my Armadas is that, like all racing bindings, they're heavy as hell.

those aren't race bindings. those are normal bindings. sorry, but not interested, i alread broke a pair this year.

and they are in no way heavy, they're not much heavier than salomons. race stock bindings are almost completely metal, these are mostly plastic.

my bad about the bindings. thought they were racing bindings. But they do weigh a lot, my friend has racing skis with real racing bindings and mine weigh almost the same, but maybe its the ski
