Having trouble capturing footage

ok so, i just got premier and a firewire card from my friend. and ive
been trying to put footage on my computer, and my camera keeps
connecting and disconnecting on me, and i dont know what it is. i have
2 firewire cords here and both are doing the same thing. so maybe its
the firewire card?
i dont even know! anyone have any tips of what to try or anything? thanks

thats weird, that doesnt happen to me at all, do the firewire cables work well with the program you used before?

one of the cords ive used 2 times before this, and it worked fine. for whatever reason i dont feel like its the cord

i mean the firewire card. try capturing on another computer to rule out the camera

oh sorry, im not good at reading, i have put footage on other computers with this camera, so it might be the card

try windows movie maker to rule out premiere as the problem.
