same banger in teaser as movie makes the movie look like a joke as well for any am's planning on using your very best shot at the end of the teaser...(or pro's for the matter coughPHOTOPLAYcough)
Thats why I never show my banger tricks in the teaser. At most I'll have 2 or so, but thats it. If I have an unbelievibly sick trick, I wont even put it in the teaser. So that when the time comes that a person is watching the actual movie, they are in for a real treat!
crazzzyyyy stuffffff, its like revealing the whole story and conclusion including big fight scenes for the spider man 3 teaser. sure you could watch the movie in its entirety and be stoked still, but it sucks that you already saw most of the good parts and know how it ends.
you got to be kidding me, the distruction of that handrail was sick (especially in the movie where it shows the progression), but definitely not the best shot in the movie, anything over those ginormous stepdowns was better, and there was other sick urban as well.
you should only use banger shots if you have tons of dope shots to back it up in the film. teasers are supposed to give you a feel for what the movie will be like.. not to mislead you with two minutes of rediculous skiing and not have anymore good footage to show in the movie.
Although I enjoyed [Photo]Play, I felt that the best segment of the movie was released, which made me think the whole movie would be equally incredible. Not saying it wasn't good, but definitely not as great as that one segment. I'm talking about Wiley Miller's, for those who don't know.
that is how a teaser should be cause then you want to see what trick they did.
what would actually be sick, and solve this problem would be to use shots of sick tricks that weren't landed n the teaser but cut out way before the landing, cause for sure those would not end up in the movie.

also a lot of people get stoked on what the movie ender will be and when it is the same as the teaser...it just isn't as exciting.
yeah but it wasnt even that good of an ender trick, I mean I dont feel it spoiled anything. If it were something nuts like Tanner's cab cork 9 over Chads, then I'd be a bit bummed but it wasn't, it was just an urban rail.
that's not just in the ski-movie industry that it happens.
most action-packed hollywood movies will put all their best visual effects shots in their trailer and when you get to the theater, you'll have the feeling to have seen it all. that's just good marketing.
you just can't get people's attention with your average shots and then saying "yeah the teaser is not that great but we have a lot more in the actual movie, so buy it"
i know where tanaka is going with this and i'm gonna agree with him... the last shot of a movie doesn't have to be THE best shot of a movie. sure it's gonna be a banger but if you don't have a movie with more then one incredible shot your movie is going to be shit. movie's end with the best SEGMENT not the best SHOT.
