Just wondering if anybody has skied both. Which one did you like better and which one is softer? Is the VCT anywhere near as light as the JP vs Julien (next years is super light). Thanks guys.
i've skied both next years 182 vct and next years 188 jj. both are sick. the jj rips in soft snow. suuuuper lightweight. tracks straight really well. but they are pretty soft.
the vcts tear it up in all conditions. pretty lightweight, but nothing like the jj. they hold a great edge on hardpack. they shred pow. and they are even pretty good in the park. they're considerably stiffer than the jj.
if you're going to be getting them for purely bc and pow days, i would say jj. if you want something a little more versatile, get the vct. either way you go, though, you won't really be disappointed.
I'm looking at the 182 (VCT) and 188 (JJ). I wanted them because I'm going out west a few times next year and want something for the powder. I'm only 150 lbs, so I guess I'm probably leaning towards the JJ's because I wanted something soft, but the VCT seem like they are such a sick, well rounded ski.
get 4 frnts there service is to die for and there reps are so good they arnt to be seen at their booth. so when they break you're down stream with no paddle. get armadas.
Get the JP, they are ridiculously light, tear up powder like none other and are generally a sicker ski, the 4FRNTs are a little more versatile, but the JPs aren't a bad ski anywhere, and are definitely worth what they give up in sidecut for the weight savings ang fresh snow abilitys.
these were the two exact skis i was lookihg at, i want with the JP's cauce they were lighter the only issue is that they are soper soft so not to great for park but htey ar an amazing ski and they are epic in pow!!
