Environmental Hazards

A very big, very real environmental hazard exists in our forests today. This is the risk of forest fires. Last year, as you will later see, there were many forest fires in B.C. There is still the potential of more because the government decided to leave the tinder dry bush and deadfall where it is. If we have another scorching summer then you can bet your bottom dollar that we will have fires. Another environmental hazard that is contributing to the forest fires is the pine beetle. Killing one tree at a time this raging beast is giving logging companies the right to log as much of our precious habitat. Unless of course they created the pine beetle as a free pass to a diminishing lumber source, the forests of B.C.. This concludes my paper.
