What are some of the most burly tough bindings that can be fitted with wide brakes?

all need custom brake bending for wide brakes, shouldnt stop you

I've busted Look p12s before a few times... But I only weigh 155 so I don't need a 23 din binding. I thought FKS can't be bent all that much. I need a tough binding for a 100 waist powder ski.

brakes in general suck, just clip them off if you dont want to deal with bending them, thats what i do on fat skis

1) how would patrol notice if ur skiing buy?

2) leashes are now illegal because of the hazard of having your ski bounce back and hit you (never heard of the avalanche thing, but makes since)

3)  brakes barely do anything in powder, not having them is only a pain when you carry them

4) salomon brakes bend like butter (unless you get pissed easy like me)

You could just get the P18 wide brake... It's already at 105mm so you'd hardly have to bend them.

i havent tried s916 but i ride the fks155s and love them, i have them on both my park skis and big mt skis im 6ft 180, so im just about maxing them out, ive heard that the 916s are a bit heavier, but that doesnt make much difference in big mt. and dont clip your brakes, bending fks brakes is a joke and putting them back together isnt hard either

Salomon: 920, 916, 914 LAB, 997 Equipe, 977 Equipe, 747 Equipe (maybe others, but look for the 'Equipe' on older models, stay away from 'Composite')

Other companies also make good high-end bindings. Look at Tyrolia/Head/Elan.

ive got some old 977 Equipe driver or somthing on my rock skis they are a sick binding but i dont have brakes for them

rossi/look fks/p 155/15 or 185/18 are solid.

salomon 914 lab or 916 are sick. don't fuck with the 920, they're totally unnessary for 97% of this site.
also, the older salomon equipe binders are sick. i just found a pair mounted on some 195 xscreams sitting in my basement and i'm stoked.

the tt heel look rossi bindings are not that durable. they definatly arnt wussy, but they are far from indestructable. the little plastic disc that sit on the inside of the forward pressure arms can break apart (resulting in slop), the semi disc that holds the back screws ALWAYS fucking breaks (on ones with plastic, 120s sometimes come with either), and the breaks are almost impossible not to go a season without fucking up.

all that being said, they are my favorite binding, because of how good of an interface they provide.

If your looking for indestructable bindings, the salomon 914/916s are the way to go. the new marker Jester looks very tough as well. dont know the names, but Tyrolia, Fischer, and elan all have some very tough bindings as well, on par with the salomons.

Avalanche anchors? What are you talking about, never heard of that? That sounds like the most idiotic idea ever. If you are fully caught in an avalanche you want to get rid of your skis so the avalanche doesn't tear your fucking legs off of your torso. But try it out and tell me what happens.

If you are light weight (150 ish) consider the look freeride 120's



The 12 din still has vertical release which can be very nice for park riding.  All metal like all other p series and fks, however they come with a wide brake and are just as bomb proof

They are difficult to find
only place i've seen is a german online shop and even then i believe they have the wrong pic with it

im thinkin in this situation prolly solli s916 perhaps or i have no idea why this hasnt been mentioned but i might get beaten is the 4frnt deadbolt 816. extremly solid, pretty much the only binding in which the brakes dont break and fairly lighter then any other binding mentioned in this thread. look into them.

What the hell are Ninja 916s? I hear Salomon 914 Labs are dope cause they are the all metal version of the standard 914 freeride.

They are just the all black version of the S916, commonly referred to as the 'Ninja' model.

The 914 LAB has the metal 916 heel with the wormscrew adjustment, but retains the plastic toe. It's better than the regular 914, but not as solid as the all-metal 916.
