Colorado pass

Hey i'm going to CU next year and I was wondering how much the colorado pass ( ithink its called) for keystone, breck, abasin, and vail/beaver creek costs? I hear there's some deal where you can open up a bank account or something and get two for the price of one? Anyone know anymore details on this/where I could find stuff about it?

It's 420$.  The price doesn't usually go up till September, if I remember correctly.

That's a really good price. Can you really get 2 if you open a bank account? It'd make more sense doing that if your going to ski for like 4 days since the prices are what $50 a day?

It's like $169 here for a pass to 1 mountain which is basically keystone park x 2.

My family and I were going to get that, but we decided to get the steamboat/copper/winter park pass instead.

the 2 for one pass is if you open a wells-fargo account, you get a super pass-- copper & winter park

but talk to skierjulie about CUFST, if you've ever wanted to go to ski camp in the summer, this is an oppertunity to get coaching all season long for about the same cost as a week session, and this year we got hooked up with discount passes to copper. you still would want to look into getting a vail resorts pass to ski breck keystone ect. but i can't tell you for sure if we'll stick with copper as our home mountain, so that could change

yaa man, im gonna be at CU next year as well. i have heard about the wells fargo deal as well, so if you want to split it (as i believe it is a two for one deal) i would probably be down. not sure how much i would ski those areas though...ill have to see

i'll say that not a lot of kids ski winter park/copper, so if you don't have a car, it could be tough to find rides to those resorts, but in my oppinion here is why copper is one of the best resorts to ski at.

they may not have the best cut jumps ie. breck, but woodward is now in charge of thier park, so things are continually improving. The middle size line took a while to get upto par, but was perfectly sized for getting comfortable with almost any trick

the jump line for the US open was up a good two weeks before the event, and stayed up for the rest of the season. not the best line to work new tricks on, but so much fun when you've got your shit dialed


copper may not have a park specific lift, like keystone, but there are parks all the way down the mountain to the lift line again, and riding singles never really is that long of a wait

copper may not be where the sceen kids are, but if you arn't use to being the top kid in the park, it's nice to have catylist pretty much all to your self..


not to mention copper is right off the highway, you exit, then you park. the walk to the bus is short, the bus ride to center village is short, and the walk from the bus to the lifts is short. at breck, the bus ride is atleast a 20 minute ordeal, and at keystone parking is unpleasently far from the lifts

breck's bus ride is a minute long, across the street from the free parking, you can walk if you want, then you take the gondola directly to the peak 8 base, it's quicker than copper.

and for keystone, i just take my boots to the lodge, and strap up like 100feet from the lifts and leave my shoes ontop of the lockers.

ontop of these things, copper's park just doesn't compare to either breck or keystone, the maintenence just isn't there, where as the other two have dedicated park crews fixing lips throughout the day, everyday.

That was the worst part about the open/skiing there at all, the lap is so long.

the only thing that makes the Copper/WP pass worth it is the price with Buy One Get One.

yeah, just to clarify...

the colorado pass is $399, but if you are 18 or under (which i assume you will be as a freshman), then its only $299. the wells fargo thing is only for the copper/winter park pass, which probably isnt worth it. 98% of students have the colorado pass, so without it, you wont be skiing with your friends.

maybe if you don't like skiing i can see that as a valid point, but if you like carving swich, and being able to fuck around on the slopes as well as run rail lines, and run the catylst, and hit the pipe, there is nothing wrong with having it all encorperated in one lap

I love how people argue about colorado resorts when in reality all colorado resorts are about 100 times better than any other resort.

word. thanks for the clarification on that.

i know i'll definitely buy the colorado pass, but i'm not sure about the copper/wp one. i love copper and would really like to ride there, but if it's sometimes hard to get a ride I don't know if it will be worth it. The CO pass is plenty good for me.

yea, really, who would complain about a ski area having a bunch of smaller parks allthe way to the main park.

if u get the colorado pass its like $420 and thats now if u buy one later it goes up more but the colorado pass is better than the winter park copper one cuz that just gets u 2 resorts except i think they are adding steamboat but it is a bitch to get to steamboat so i dont think its great plus i think its more
