Pairs of goggles

anybody else think its wierd goggles are called pairs when there really not pairs its just one i dont know im in physics spacing out right now and that idea pondered me and i happen to have a computer

mm this is a good point youngsteezy i have no qlue to why this occurs, possibly because you have 2 eyes and it is just going along with that but who knows maybe some greater force is acting upon us

maybe since they two things that this one object hast cover up,
goggles.-2 eyes,
pants-two legs,
boxers,-2 balls
gloves,-2 hands

but theres not pairs of braclets or rings, or necklasses because they only go onto one object
thats my hypothesys

pants are made up of 2 pant legs, therefore a pair of pants.
goggles were made up of 2 seperate lenses
