Insanity doesn't come in proportions for one, and second, you can't "extend" to a proportion of something, so yea,this fag probably lay awake in bed all night trying to think of something that sounded smart and waited the next day for a good moment to use it

part of it is wrong, but i would say there are different levels of insanity, some people are really messed up crazy and others are just a little bit. So yes, you could probably be different 'proportions' if you will of insanity but the statement is still inherently flawed.

extending is the wrong adverb for the sentence, but insanity can have proportions, because any noun in english can.
