FCE: Capture Ended Due to Lack of Disk Space but I Have Plenty

I'm using Final Cut Express. I'm importing entire soccer games onto my external hard drive that has more than 80 gb of space, but every 9 minutes and something specific seconds it stops importing because there's not enough disk space, then i simply restart it and it continues fine, until the next 9 minutes is up. any suggestions?

check your connecttion to make sure your really doing it to the external. also im pretty sure if your doing it in a capture now it has a limit, but thats ussaully 30 minutes. My advice would be to import the video in two seperate clips just start the clips at end to end time codes so it flows together. I dont know if this helps. for some reason express is a little awkward compair to pro. good luck!

yeah i'm definately in the hard drive cuz it's my only scratch disk and i can continue. and i have been doing clips and conecting.
