hey i need some help with bindings since i'm gettin new skis, and i was wondering if k2 made bindings/if they make good ones. any info would be great

i got look (penis binding) and there hold up real nice. U should think in to in vesting those. And K2 does make binding, but i don't know if they are good

they dont "make" bindings, but they do own Marker...so those are "there" bindings, but marker sucks...to recommend bindings we need height, weight ability, where u ski, what u ski, k?

He was asking what kind of skiing you do, park/pipe, big mountain...that kind of thing.

At your height and weight almost anything would be fine, if you want to keep your setup light, get some Z10s or Z12s...they're on sale at getboards.com right now for $99...I'd jump on that deal.

Marker made a good bindings for this coming year that imitate the looks. They look like a blend of looks and lines binding

Yeah, and it's got a DIN up to 16, she doesn't need it, she's small and light...not a good binding for her.

you would be safe with pretty much any bindings with a din at about 10..... some good brands are Look/Rossignol   Salomon, 4frnt, and most ppl dont mention them.... but head/tyrolia has good bindings too

Acording to the chart someone your height and weight who is a type 2 skier won't be set higher than 5...so I'd go ahead and get the Z10, super lightweight, you won't break it because you're small, and it's brand new so it comes with a factory warranty. I'll give you the links for the sale at getboards.com, on has an 80mm brake and the other has an 85mm brake...just choose the one that fits the waist of your skis best and buy it, super good deal.

it's a touring binding.

Get something like P10's or even Axium 100's, depending how hard you ride. Your DIN setting is probably going to be of only 5 or 6 so no need for a high DIN binding.

Is this a joke... 'Well going by thechart' hahahha. K all you need to know is that a 7 din will be good for you, but dont go for the salomon 10 binding because salamon has recently started using cheaper springs in there bindings and if you have your din constantly set at 7 the springs in the binding will were away and soon you will be skiing on about a 2 din. Go for the marker bindings, Looks can pre release and tyrollea's gay little rollers make it easy to kick out of your boot whenev. Also if you go with the markers,you dont have to get above a 10 because marker uses a diferent spring system and you can crank your dins all the way up to ten and theyll never die down

K dude peace. Just trying to help someone out. Dawg you should know what your talking about before you go and fight. This is not me talking it is a world cup binding technitoin for Rossi who worked there for 15 years talking. Bitch Please. I have been taking apart bindings for some time now and i ski 100+ days a year. If i have no idea what im talking about who does???

And judging by tha bindings you got on in all ur picts you dont know your shit. YOur on an old racing binding for freestyle, rossi the heaviest not to mentoin the lifters you got on there.

he's right about salomon's and marker's spring system. I'm not sure what's determining that her DIN should be set at 7 though. And I disagree about Looks pre-releasing. Mine have only pre-released a few times (although i do have the DIN set at 10), but I will argue that Looks aren't very durable.

How about you don't be ignorant...I'm going to assume you're talking about my Axial race 140s...and I'll agree that I'm using a race binding for freeride, but I'm about to blow you out of water on the rest of your ridiculous rambling.

You act like it's a bad idea to use a race binding, but how many pro riders do you see running around the Look/Rossi turntables mounted on the skis they ride, they are some of the most durable bindings ever made.

My race bindings have no lifter whatsoever...how's your eyesight?

And a Rossi world cup tech told you that they are the heaviest and pre-release? If that is true then he's a moron, and if you made that up, you're the moron...Salomon 916s are heavier than Look/Rossi anything...and I've NEVER pre-released out of any pivot heel clamp.

Don't know if you're aware of this; but there is a chart for determining a skiers DIN setting, so discounting my use of the chart and you guessing that her DIN should be a 7 is more than idiotic.

And you can run a 7 setting on a 10 DIN binding all day long (even though that isn't the setting she would get from a shop anyway) and have no problems, but just in case something should go wrong, they have a warranty...I think I mentioned that already though.

looks and rossi are pretty good bindings, mine have never pre realesed and my din is at 4.5, but then agien im a smaller dude, plus there dins go up to a 14

Are you kidding me shops have to go on a low binding din because if they crank it up too far they are at liability for hurting the skier and getting sued. And please dont talk to me about race bindings, i am a racer. Thats what i do 4 days a week. Freesking is just a side thing from racing. Binding are not meant to last for like 5 years if you ski a lot. Rossignol itself says that YOUR bindings have a limit to the amount of use that they can indure. The reason why they are not prereleasing on you is probably cause you dont ski a lot and kepp yours dins pretty low or you dont go big and do a lot of work with groomers

You basically didn't have anything to say...you implied that shop settings are too low (which in most cases, they are fine, and if you pre-release you can turn them up a little at a time, not a big deal at all), then you told me that my bindings are a few years old, which I already knew...then assumed because I still ride them and you are the be-all, end-all knowledge of bindings, and racing too, that I must not ski very hard. Weak...some people on NS actually know something about gear, if you're not going to be intelligent in your posts and the info you give, don't bother saying it...it just means that you waste other peoples time (mine) who have to come in and correct you.

You win but just for refrence when your bullshitting further 'victims' a prerelease of a binding means premature release meaning that the binding releases before the pressure on your knees or bones is great enough to be stressed to the point of injury. I dont know what you think prerelease means but it is sure not while your skiiing powder and they come off before you fall. You cannot tell if a binding pre releases by yourself. Binding companies even have a hard time testing the prerelease of there binding. Your bs is out of this world well played my friends.

Well I've taken some end-over-end tumbles (landing switch off cliffs, on those Prophet 130s that I don't ski hard and mostly ride groomers with) where I probably should've lost at least one ski, but nope...they both stayed on, so I guess I didn't pre-release after all. And most people would prefer not to have their knees torqued to near injury before the bindings let go of them.

Eric is the man...sorry if I came out of the gate a little strong, probably got a little carried away on the hate front. I think she'd be fine with the Z10 (or any 10 DIN binding for that matter, those are just on sale right now for really cheap and they are really light, especially good for a light person) but feel free to give your suggestions too, it's an open forum for a reason. My apologies.

id say u deff should get a 10-12 binding...if uv brokin a 10 binding before then id say u should get a 12 cause usually the higher models are more durable then lower models if not then a 10 binding would be fine id say salomons are nice and light but not the most durable, if u wanted to sacraffice a littile weight and get more durabilitie then id say check out look/rossi hope that helps
