So I ran out of the bottle of Jerk sauce my parents got me in Jamaica and now I cannot find a jerk sauce that tastes like actual jerk sauce. HELP! What brands actually taste like the real thing?

it's a spicy sauce/seasoning from Jamaica that you put on chicken, pork, or fish and it's the greatest thing in the history of the universe. It's ingredients include: Habaneros (or other equally hot peppers), allspice, nutmeg, and some other stuff.

have you had jerk chicken at a Caribbean restaurant or in Jamaica or anything? Cause some of them that I've tried are good, but don't taste like the real thing.

depending where you live, i suggest going to a west indian grocery store to aquire such a product. im not super familiar with jerk sauce brands in particular, but i know for other hot sauces and such things i go to a west indian store. ( rather get a friend to go for me, since i dont live anywhere near one ).

Ya I searched all over downtown Burlington today for a Caribbean/West Indy grocery store and I couldn't find one.
So yes, part 2 of this thread: Does anybody know of a Jamaican/Caribbean/West Indy grocery store in Burlington, VT?

make your own man, it's the only way. and once you make your own, buy an oil drum and make yourself an authentic BBQ for cooking the jerk. My dad makes his own jerk sauce and it tastes exactly the same as off the streets of Jamaica. Best jerk is with chicken marinating a whole chicken and then BBQing the whole thing. Trust me though, unless you know a Jamaican that makes his own, best is to keep trying to make different recipes until you have a good on.
