What type of bike should I get?

I want a bike that'd be good for...

-riding around my town
-trails
-low intensity urban/skatepark riding

It needs to be reasonable priced. I haven't really biked that much but it seems cool.

any suggestions?

Whats your price range. If its up to like 1200, get like a kona stuff, if your looking for a low intensity bike. Jea

huffy off -road supreem is such a sick model. its got liek 5 inch shox wich will hold up for ur riding in "urban skate parks". it has gears. mostlikly 21 wich will be prime for riding in ur town. it will run u about 125 $ at ur local wallmart. peace man its a good buy. i got liek 5

you should def. buy a cheap bike then... I bought a really nice mountain bike almost before I stopped growing, but those extra few inches really made me too big for it and that's never fun.

I thought I was done...

Scott P.1 or P.2 or something. They're pretty much a beefed up BMX bike but with front suspension. It's just a dirtjumping/urban jibbing mountain bike. Way fun.

It's a single speed and comes with a bash guard I think, so you can own it on ledges and shit. Such a fun bike.

yea get a dirtjump style bike. it'll be good for all of the above.

if you're running on a budget definitly look at second hand bikes. you can pick up some real good bargins. if you spend 600 on a new bike or 600 on a second hand bike the second hand one is probably gonna be about twice as good.

or alternativly you can build up a bike yourself.
buy a second hand frame and keep an eye out on the net for components going cheep.

I just got a kona stuff frame and discs for 200, new wheelset for 170 and im swapping the drivetrain off my old bike so its gonna be a pretty sweet setup for not much coin.

the advantage of building your own bike is that when anything goes wrong you are able to replace or repair most parts yourself, saving more $$ instead of getting the lbs to service minor problems

Buying used bikes is usually pretty safe, just have someone who knows a good bit about bikes look over the specs before you do buy...I've bought and sold used bikes and never had a problem with it.

yep. super awesome. ummm giant makes the stp which is similar, and cannondale makes the chase. they all are available in a single speed version, and they are all available in a geared version. they are also all available in a more pricy version with top shelf components. all rad bikes, all nearly bombproof. although the single speed versions are the most durable since you don't hvae to worry about any sort of gear shifting aparatus or extra cogs.

if its been litely used or only been used for a short period of time sure, if its one summer used i ask how aggresive the rider is and stuff cause he might have done a 50ft too flat and just totally internally fucked it
