OK so I'm going to be 17 by the may 24 weekend which is my girlfriends prom and I want to get a hotel in niagara falls. I have a credit card with my own name on it becuase my mom co-signed. Will I be able to get a room? Its 2 weeks away from my 18th birthday...
everytime ive rented a hotel room, ive just handed them my credit card. they havent ID'd me cause you gotta be 18 to have a credit card. In fact, the whole reason you cant rent a room at 17, is cause you need to give them a credit card in case you fuck up the room and they need to pay for it.
Im gonna say that as long as you have a credit card you should be fine. Really dont think they mind as long as they have that. (I would think thats the main reason why they dont let people under 18 book, because they have no credit card). Unless if your mom would have to co-sign. But that would be ..... not good.
if you rent the hotel online it shouldn't be a big deal. I had the same problem on my senior prom and just went online to book the hotel. When I got there I had to give them my credit card, but they did not check ID. It was a nice hotel though, so I don't know. Good luck man.
i rented a fuckin cottage at 17, not to mention a gazillion other things. just do it, and dont give them any real reason (aside from age, if they even check) to deny you
^ I'm renting a cottage in July at wasaga and having a credit card or being 18 has nothing to do with it. Hotels are much more strict. On the all the hotels site it says number of people 18+ and number of people below 18 and you have to pick. So I guess I'll just do 2 adults. What am I going to do if I get there and they ask for ID though?
I'm going to call the holiday inn in my town and just ask.
If you call and ask they will just tell you that you can't. What we did is just go and not worry about it. Do your parents know, because if they do, just have them go and check in for you. If not just get a room online and act as if there is nothing to worry about. Oh, or you could get a friend that is over 18 to check in for you.
